IRELAND I have to say I enjoy the track. The verses are quite beautiful, but the chorus stops it from ever going to that place it needs to go. My fear is that it is too quiet, but that may also be what helps it. I don't think we'll qualify, but we'll be around that 12-13th spot again. An improvement, but it really is extremely uninventive from RTÉ. Edit: Something that came into my mind after writing. RTÉ's Choice song of the year was a dance/hip-hop song. The other nominated songs were extremely diverse, modern, and representative of the Ireland of 'today'. Granted a song like Chasing Abbey's wouldn't 'fit' Eurovision, I'd personally be more excited to see something unconventional to represent Ireland an nq, than another safe ballad, which is borderline at best, for the 3rd time in 4 years.

It's an improvement from last year in my opinion. It's a nice, sweet, downtempo song. However, there are much better downtempo songs from what we've heard so far, so... I'm actually optimistic that this could have a similar result like in 2013 (qualifies but places last in the final).

It's kind of bland, but I overall enjoyed it. I think we have a shot at qualifying

I really liked Brendan last year and I really like this song as well. Yes, it doesn't go anywhere but it is very nice to listen to and I like the feeling of this song a lot. I feel like I can see some similarities between Ireland and Germany in recent years. Both broadcasters didn't show that much interest/effort in the contest. The same people stayed in the delegation and as a result (at least in Germany) the public interest in the ESC went down thus validating the no-effort behavior from the delegation. I really hope both countries can get their act together this year. Funnily enough both also have the same style of song this year and the German song seems to be received pretty good so I hope this is a good sign for both Germany and Ireland.

The verses are quite beautiful, however the chorus goes nowhere and Ryan's voice isn't that pleasant to my ears there.

Somewhere around a / - It's essentially the same song as last year, tho Full Review on Tumblr((BTW you should go listen to his uncle's ESC song from 2001, it sounds like it belongs in 1991... which is funny because this song sounds like it belongs in 2001.)
