IMPORTANTFormula Change The charts have gone through a pretty significant change to the formula. Firstly, no longer is only the top 20 of each user counted - it now counts the entire top 50. The point numbers have also multiplied, with the #1 track now receiving 1000 points instead of the previous 200. Not the entire top 50 of each user is counted, as songs with just a single play are ignored from the charts. This change leads the charts to be slightly less random and slightly more accurate. The chart itself has also been reduced from a top 50 to a top 40, in order to keep it even more clean.
With that being said, a brand new artists chart has also been introduced, to keep track of the most popular artists on the forum each week! TOP 40 SONGS06 August 2017 Dua Lipa continues her reign at #1, increasing her lead with "New Rules" significantly this week, in part also due to the change in formula. Kesha replaces herself at the 2nd place, as "Praying" shoots up 7 places from its previous 9th place. "Learn to Let Go" falls 2 spots to 4th place. In 3rd place, Major Lazer featuring Anitta and Pabllo Vittar make their debut with the song "Sua Cara".
The previously mentioned "Learn to Let Go" comes in at 4th place, and Gabrielle's song "5 fine frøkner" rises 5 spots into 5th place. Lorde's "Perfect Places" roars up 40 places into 6th place, probably due to the release of the official music video last week. Kesha charts in the top 10 with two further songs, as "Woman" and "Hymn" debut at 7th and 8th respectively. Marina Satti also makes her debut in the top 10, as "Mantissa" comes in at 9th. Rounding off the top 10, Adna's "Overthinking" rises 24 places into 10th place.
Other debuts in the top 20 come from Onuka with "19 86", Girls' Generation with "All Night" and Chlöe Howl with "Magnetic". Songs from Lady Gaga, Ivy & Gold, Alan Walker, Francesca Michielin, I.AM.WILLOW and Katy Perry also make their debuts elsewhere in the top 40 this week. TOP 40 ARTISTS06 August 2017 Dua Lipa also comes out atop the artists chart this week, with Kesha also coming in 2nd. Lana Del Rey is 3rd, Major Lazer 4th, and Lorde completes the top 5. Allie X, Clean Bandit, Adna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry also made it to the top 10 on the artists chart this week.
