Another "too good for ESC" case  They and everyone else could still go through, because this year we've changed our system a bit - not only 2 songs go through from each of the 3 semis, but also there will be 1 wild-card... obviously it will be announced only at the end of 3rd semi or a few days after... basically the system is similar like in WWWSC right now - only the numbers that go through are different... |

Markus Riva lost to Ritvars?  Can't stop laughing  Madara is, of course, phenomenal. Wonderful melody, amazing voice, meaningful lyrics + it's sung in Latvian - it has everything. Undoubtedly the best song of all NSs I've heard so far. |

Markus Riva lost to Ritvars? Can't stop laughing People here are tired of him already participating every year... some people even thought about voting for him so that he finally wins and stops participating... I guess we'll see him again next year  |

Seems like there was a technical error, meaning Markus would've actually come 2nd in the SF, meaning they gave him a spot in the final Indeed there was a technical error! People on twitter were making fuss about it already when the voting was open. Here's why: "Because of a technical error on Saturday, February 10th, in Supernova homepage there was a Riga Reggae picture next to RITVARS's name (but there wasn't RITVARS's picture next to Riga Reggae name), which seemed odd for many voters. Judging the situation that arose, the contest organizers decided to annul the internet voting results. After collecting all voting results without internet voting, 2nd place was taken by Markus Riva, so his place in the final on 24th of February is granted. "On the other hand RITVARS, who after this re-calculation came 3rd, will maintain his spot in the final" was confirmed by the producer of the contest Ilze Jansone. Even after this re-calculation Riga Reggae didn't get into the final." That's all! All I can say is - you wanted him, you got him!  I guess this means there will be 8 finalists then, because no one has cancelled the wild-card... We don't want him, because he'd be for sure our worst participant since Supernova was organized. We want something better... To be honest, the only way he was able to get 2nd was because of Spotify, because he has thousands of fans there... if it would be only calls and SMS's, he'd never qualify... I can't wait for the 3rd semi, because from the songs that will participate there it should be the strongest semi...  |
