Who is Perfume Genius?
Perfume Genius is the stage name for Seattle-based solo artist Mike Hadreas, Hadreas is of Greek descent and was born in the suburbs of Seattle, Washington. Growing up, Hadreas was the only openly gay student at his school, and he received death threats which were not addressed by the administration.[8] He dropped out of high school during his senior year. Two years after dropping out, he was attacked by several young men in his neighborhood.[8] He moved to Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and worked as a doorman for a club in the East Village. In 2005, Hadreas returned home to Seattle and began recording music.[8] In 2008, Hadreas set up a MySpace page under the name Perfume Genius, and thus began his music career.[10] Hadreas's music explores topics including sexuality, his personal struggle with Crohn's disease, domestic abuse, and the dangers faced by gay men in contemporary society. Mike released so far 4 albums and he is already working on his fifth one!
Why did I send Perfume Genius?
Even If I found him recently, I am in love with his music. I know that his genre might not be appreciated here buut I love ''Slip Away'' as a song and I guess that it deserves a try. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!  Greek descent tho. Is this connection enough to be allowed? |

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED! The submissions are officially closed. This edition, we have some countries withdrawing, reducing our number of participants to 52. Normally, there should have been a Pre-Qualification Round. However, WE thought that a PQR with 4 countries, out of which 3 will make it is quite pointless. Hence, for this reason and only, we have decided to accept all 52 countries! This means that everyone will take part in the Semi Finals, with just 1 of the 3 Semis having 17 instead of 16 participants! Moreover, this edition we will start directly with the Semi Finals. However, we still need our time to make the recaps.  In the meantime, you may find your entry images HERE. |
