this NS was a mess, no standout song, nothing overwhelming but at least Christabelle, who was one of the better, won And I agree, the live version makes the song sound much stronger for some reason

Another song that's definitely not bad, but also not further remarkable. Edit: I just watched a few videos on the Eurovision channel ("Her first reaction" video at first) and now I have an earworm. So I'm now going up, but not much - to .

"Taboo" is pretty interesting, as the message isn't the one which most people would probably point out. Despite the song sounding like the atypical pop song of 2016-2017-ish, it quite unveils a few certain elements which makes it stand out, as the dubstep part or her vocals. It gives you that empowering feeling or probably the feeling of confidence, also mainly delivered by the live performance. It's a pop song which is kind-of like a supernova (no pun intended, Jasmine sorry) but still waits for that moment to explode.
My point of view regarding the song? Man, note for self, don't watch Malta's national selections ever again... So many ads, intervals and stuff like that when the results held way less than their commercials. Honestly, I thought Romania holds a freaking lot with commercials and stuff in general but apparently Malta took the cake. Okay, back to the entry: I recall Christabelle trying over and over again since 2014, if not more. She always had that confident delivery and huge personality which brought the song to life, outside the vocal performances she gave. This time it's not an exception. In my point of view, the selection was messy and only a few songs stood out for me in the end. I have to admit that this one wasn't among them before the live performances, but I enjoyed it nonetheless, despite its cheapness. I was proud of her when she won, she really had that genuine reaction and was honestly surprised, and I wish her the best in Lisbon. The song, let's say it's not my cup of tea. However the live performance she delivered was pretty great, not going to lie. I'm not too fond of the dubstep part and I feel like the chorus is kinda monotone in comparison with the verses. She's vocally capable to pull the song all the way through though. I still gave it because of the live performance, as if it was based on the studio, I think it'll be a at most. I have no idea if this is going to be revamped, but let's hope they'll do something to make it sound more epic. I'm genuinely happy for her winning over the oh-so-hyped "Heart Of Gold", but I prefer some other songs in the selection. (Surprisingly, my favorite came second, so Malta's televoting was pretty great tbh)

It was one of my favorites in the selection. But there were not standing out songs. So they chose the best of the bad to meh songs. I don't see this ending high in my top in the end.
