THE LEBANESE NATIONAL SELECTION FOR THE NORTHVISION SONG CONTEST #24
Today is finally the day where a new story for Lebanon in the Northvision,
will be started to be written, following the change of everything, from the delegation,
to the way of selecting the entry for the contest.
This is now the time to start this very first edition of A Song for Lebanon,
which, we hope, will bring Lebanon back to it's glorious days in the contest.
This very first edition of the selection will see 5 Songs and Artists competing,
but only one will be choosed for representing
Lebanon in the Northvision Song Contest.Concerning the selection of the songs, 4 out of the final 5 songs
were choosed by an expert jury, over an amount of 150 Songs sent to the LBC
during the time allocated for the submission for the entries.
Also note that the selection went that one "foreign" singer which has a connection to
Lebanonwas also selected by a separate jury, for trying to make a more diversified National Selection.
where, all the people with a different appreciation of music, can found a favorite in the selection.
Each 5 songs will be revealed on the week of the 27 Nov. to the 1st Dec. , with like this :
27/11 • Artist & Song 1
28/11 • Artist & Song 2
29/11 • Artist & Song 3
30/11 • Artist & Song 4
01/12 • Artist & Song 5
Note that the songs are revealed by their order in the selection, which means that the song 1
will perform 1st on the Selection, and etcetera.
And about the Juries ?
Unlike many NS, two sets of juries will be choosed, one representing Europe,
and another, representing the
Lebanese music industry.Each spots will be choosed randombly between all the potential applications.
But note that there is some rules to respect if you want to be a part of the juries :
• In case you're a HoD, you can just simply apply.
• In case you're a Co-HoD, you must firstly ask the HoD of your country for applying.
• In case you're not a Co-HoD, you can't apply to the selection.
• A place in the "European" Jury may be able to be saved for an Associate Broadcaster,
as long as it's HoD is also a Co-HoD of another country in the contest.
Also note about two small points about the draw :
1. For realism purpose,
Israel will not be able to be drawn as an European Jury member.They, however, keep their chances for being able to be drawn as a Lebanese Jury member.
2. For the Televoting Round, each HoD & Co-HoD votes will be separated.
Here is the 5 Lebanese Juries member for this first edition of A Song for Lebanon :
Aline Lahoud Former Lebanese representative in the 7th edition of the Northvision Song Contest.
In the contest, she sang Quand Tout S'enfuit, where she finished 21st in Final.
Carole Samaha Also a former Lebanese representative, this time in the 10th & 15th editions of NVSC.
In the 10th edition, she sang Wahshani Baladi, where she finished 19th in Semi-Final,
And on the 15th edition, where she sang Sahranine, which finished 20th in Final.
Kazem Chamas Member of the Arabic Band
The 5, which represented Algeria twice.Firstly on the 17th edition, where the band finished 14th in Semi-Final, with El Donia Shabab,
and also on the 22nd edition, where they finished 9th in Final, with La Bezzaf.
Myriam Fares Another former Lebanese representative in NVSC, and also twice, on the 14th & 16th edition.
Firstly, she finished 2nd in the Final with Nifsi Aoulhalak,
and secondly, she didn't qualified, finishing 12th in final with Amam.
And finally...
Nicole Saba The very first Lebanese representative in the contest, on the 5th edition,
that she also won with her 173 Points and her song Hafdal Ahlam.
She tried to compete a second time, on the 21st Edition, yet not reproducing the same success,
finishing 12th in the Semi-Final with Mesh Wa't El Kalam.
Here is so our 5 Lebanese members, which will be joined by 5 European Countries.
The applications are now open until the 5 Songs have been revealed.
which means there is one week for applying for being a jury in the Selection.
