Good evening Europe and welcome to the announcement thread for Söngvakeppnin Sjónvarpsins 24!
Like last edition,
Iceland will be selecting their entry via national selection. The format had worked for the country in the past when it was used, in all attempts bringing them to the final.However, not in the 23rd edition.
This time we will do our best to qualify for the grand final in
Austria!SYSTEM
6 songs will participate in the selection - 2 less than the last time.
The songs will be either in
Icelandic or 
English - this was confirmed by RÚV earlier today.And as previously mentioned RÚV has decided to focus their attention on more unknown singers to give them a chance and to show off their talent to the rest of Europe.
Juries will be back for this edition. There are 11 spots available (other than the
Icelandic spot) and countries around Europe can apply. If more than 11 countries apply, then a draw will be held to determine the 11 juries. **Please post below if you want to become a jury**
VOTING
The voting will be 50% jury and 50% televote.
Only the 11 countries that get chosen will be able to vote as juries - other countries will have to vote as televoters.
More information regarding how points will be distributed will come at a later stage.
