Still not a ranking (I'll do it after the rehersal), but my opinion on the songs:
Could be good, but the interpretation should be more energetic. Everything will depend on his talent as a live performer.
Not bad. Perhaps it would sound better with more traditional instruments.
This song sounds good but I would love a country version of it! We can be sure at least that she won't fail live.
Big lack of identity. Is that folk, pop, a ballad?
Will song will perhaps be saved, but it will be thanks to a great choreography.
Flat, already heard thousands of times. As interesting as a tofu cake.
I don't think there is much to save, unfortunately, due to the technical weaknesses of the singers (lacks of power in her high vocals, so she is unable to hold long notes)
The voices are OK but the instrumentals lack of energy.
Her jazzy voice is great, I would use instrumentals like in Sam Brown's "Stop!" or like in "L'amore è femmina" (Nina Zilli) to maximise its potential.
The song is already strong like this. Her low vocals are good. I'm waiting for the epic choreography!
Could be a male "Satellite" but his voice lacks of charisma.
There is something to do with this song. Bring us a HURDY-GURDY! AND A DRAKKAR ON STAGE!
The combination crystalline soprano voice+instrumentals reminds me songs like "Carmine meo" by Emma Shapplin. Her vocal skills seem superior to Malina Ernman. Even if we can't really compare them: Malina Ernman is mezzo soprano coloratura - it means that her normal vocal range is mezzo soprano but that she managed to extend it to higher notes - while Elina is a natural soprano - and she has naturally a better agility than mezzo soprano colorature in higher notes. But technically, the note that Elina manages to produce at the very end at the very limit of her whistle register is just perfection. If she redoes the same interpretation with the stress of the competition, she would be an extremely deserved winner.
The song is quite efficient but Saara should add more vocal effects in the hold notes ((waves, vibrato, groove, SOMETHING).
When we see the songs sent by other countries, that finally sounds decent. I would perhaps try an electro pop version of this.
Easily forgettable. A journey to the frontiers of boring.
Classic, solid Greek pop. A bit too classic for the victory.
The vocal range of the frontsinger seems to be quite narrow, and the instrumentals are mediocre.
Cheap ersatz of Bryan Adams, see you next year...
Sorry, but for me, the political content is too heavy for an apolitical contest like Eurovision.
Cheap ersatz of
See you again, see you next year...
Holy Guacamole! Replace these silly instrumentals by oriental ones!
Her voice and her interpretation sound for me like a mix of Mariah Carey, Aaliyah and other singers and finally I have a feeling of "deja vu". Quite strange.
Her voice is charming, the light instrumentals are well chosen. Perhaps she could try to catch higher notes or they should add soprano vocalists. I could also imagine a couple of classic dancers in the background. This song has a great potential.
They would need a completely WTF staging to be noticed with this song... It sounds like very cheap ABBA.
The interpretation should be much more energetic, each "miracle" should be like a fist of gorilla in the chest. This song would be perfect for Natalie Horler (Cascada) or Iveta Mukuchyan but here, I'm afraid that it won't be enough.
Quite mediocre song, but could be saved with really folk instrumentals.
Again, a big lack of energy in the interpretation.
You know me, I'm a fan of country. But I think that she instrumentals don't sound enough folk (they should add at least a pedal steel and one harmonica) and the interpretation should be more "dirty" too.
Even an amazing solo of violin will not save Norway from the icebergs. They would need a IIIIIIIIIIIIIIICEBREAKEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRR...
Their voices are OK but I personally hate the songs where half of the lyrics are OOOOOOoooOOOOO UUUUUuuuuuUUUU AAAAAAAaaaaaaAAAAAAA. It's getting on my nerves like the sound of a mosquito just when I'm going to fall asleep.
There is something wrong, the voice and the instrumentals don't fit at all. The beats must be removed, they break any emotion.
I hope that her voice can get higher notes because the melody lacks of relief.
Holy Guacamole! One year of waiting for THAT? Bring Polina back!
Please replace these silly instrumentals! It sounds like "Say yeah!" (Barei) but MUCH less funky. There is something wrong in this song, the tempo should have been lower.
Big lack of rhythm and of identity.
Big potential. I'm excited about the staging... Something like "If love was a crime" (BUL 2016) or "Same heart" (ISR 2014) would be great.
Their voices fit well together. I would perhaps remove the violin and add a second guitar.
Sweden is the most enigmatic country in the world. They have by far the best selections for ESC and they often manage to send us random garbage.
Hard to find some defaults in this entry. Perhaps too much similarities between the female singer and Amy Whinehouse.
Is it a song or a recitation? Huge lack of personality and relief.
Only a AAA voice could take profit of this song, otherwise the result is extremely boring.
