5 cities had ordered the terms of tender for the event organised by YLE. These cities interested in hosting the contest are Espoo, Helsinki, Rovaniemi, Tampere and Turku.

BID #01

Espoo Metro Arena is an arena in Espoo, Finland, located by the ice rink and the fair center, in Tapiola. It was opened in 1999 and holds 6,982 people for ice-hockey games or 8,582 for concerts.

BID #02

Hartwall Arena is a large multi-functional indoor arena located in Helsinki, Finland. The arena is convertible for various events. For sport events, the capacity is about 10,000, about 14,000 for basketball, for concerts about 13,000. The venue has already hosted the 35th edition of the contest.

BID #03

Lappi Areena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Rovaniemi, Finland which hold concerts, trade fairs and sporting events particularly ice hockey. The arena was built in 2003 and has a capacity of 4780 people for concerts and 3500 for ice hockey matches.

BID #04

Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre is an indoor venue in Tampere, Finland. The centre has 4 halls and the first one was built in 1985 and is able to hold 10,800 people.

BID #05

Gatorade Center is an arena in Turku, Finland. It is primarily used for ice hockey, although it's able to host various concerts as well. Gatorade Center opened in 1990 and holds 11,820 people.

The official announcement regarding the host city of the following edition will be revealed in the following days!

Sweden confirms

SVT confirmed today the Swedish participation in the return of Own Eurovision Song Contest which will take place in Finland. During the press conference, the new HoD Vaius Koravsson was presented to the audience and promised to continue with succesful placements for the country. His first entry as HoD has already been selected and he promised it's a young and promising act with a modern song.

Heathers will represent Ireland in OESC49!

Just a few minutes ago, a press conference took place where the RTE confirmed the official Irish entry for OESC49. We are glad to reveal that Heathers will represent the country in

Finland with the song "Midnight Train".

But we can't wait much longer, here is our entry "Midnight Train".

Following the automatic qualification of

Natalia Gordienko in the 48th edition, it has been confirmed that

Moldova will be present in the 49th edition, set to be held in

Finland. Rumours had suggested that nu-metal band

Infected Rain would be representing the nation in the final of the contest, and these rumours have now been proved to be true, as the entry has today been confirmed to be Infected Rain's song "Mold". You can listen below ^_^
