Retro WWWSC #47

I definitely landed where I expected (bottom 10), I was worried as I was last a good portion of the voting ... Thanks to everyone who saved me from the last place

The winner was clear throughout the whole voting, only at the end halved the margin, but it wasn't enough.
After 7 edition "break" we now have our 25th country winning, congrats

I'd like to congratulate Philippines for getting another 2nd after a long time.
Ireland got high points as it's just magic. Deserved 3rd or more.
Nice place for my Italy.
Taiwan this is so catchy, after making the results it got stuck in my head because of all the 12 points
South Korea also catchy and enjoyable.
Poland this song caught my attention right away and I thought it wouldn't do as well, and I'm so glad it did
Finland I don't regret giving this I thought it'd do better.
Malta by giving points I made myself go lower  oh well

Oh my gosh! Am I dreaming? Second place? What? No way! This is awesome. Thank you so much to all who voted for Philippines, especially for your . After a dismal last place last edition, I knew I had to make a comeback,
and it clearly paid off. I was shook when I suddenly got a massive surge of votes out of nowhere at the end. Certainly that rarely happens. This is going to be one of my favorite RWWWSC moments. Thank you so much again. Let's see if I can top that in the future. And special thanks to Tom for your and for reminding me that this song is old.

If I had to lose, I'm glad it was to this. My . This is genuinely the first Latvian entry in this contest that I actually love and rooted for, so for it to get such a great response (clearly) means it's a deserved win. It's so powerful and epic, and the picture for it is iconic. Congrats!

Right! I guess it's time for me to say something as well!

I'm really happy and thankful to everyone who gave me some points to make this happen! Finally I've got my first win! It only took 90 editions (if we look at both WWWSC contests as one ) and only my 2nd podium in that case. To be honest - I was not expecting even a podium, didn't even consider 1st place as a possible option. But I'm glad I was wrong

I'm also really happy that it was traditional music that won, not some pop song. I mean, I wouldn't mind both, but for the first win I'm happy that it's traditional!

Speaking of the points received - I definitely didn't expect from , , & ... if I was hoping for , than that would've been from countries like , & maybe . But I'm happy with the points they gave me anyway Looking at my points I can see that my song was sort of a "love/hate" song, because I got quite a few & , but I also got quite a few &

All the top3 is decent, even if I didn't gave a single point to Ireland! I still think the song was nice. Congratz to both Philippines and Ireland as well. All of us deserved podium at some point, because we're not the usual "suspects" for the top spots...

I'm happy that Slovakia got a decent place! Would've liked to see Azerbaijan, Armenia & Spain a bit higher. But well - we can't have all the luck all the time... even for me - after being 26th twice I finish 1st now... madness... it might sound unrealistic/unbelievable, but this is only my 3rd legit win in all contests I've taken part in as Latvian player
