EBU should do something about it and I hope no Ukrainian with a proper mind will agree to this slavery contract and Ukraine will end up finding no one, bye
so fucking mad and disappointed with my favourite country in the contest, putting politics above music in a music competition AGAIN

poor Maruv... however still thanks for delivering a masterpiece for my playlist but looking at the chances of Ukraine in the contest, Freedom-Jazz would still have good potential in Tel Aviv. I love the song and the song is so fun (because of their performance and their "attitude" on stage)

I honestly feel this political crap is getting out of hand in ESC atleast because Ukraine seems to bring it everytime they can. Shame one of the better songs cannot take part now because of this mess but honestly speaking i fully understand Maruv I am just done with it

Although Siren Song was my second to last, I have to acknowledge that the drama around the Vidbir National Selection was very redundant. On the other hand, it shows we cannot exclude politics from any aspects of our lives.
I have just checked the rules of the Eurovision Song Contest (https://eurovision.tv/about/rules, Article 2.6), where a reference is made to the ESC being a non-political contest in which promotion of "any organization, institution, political cause or other, company, brand, products or services" is prohibited. Such promotion, according to the rules, cannot occur in any official ESC events (references are made to: at the venue, during the Opening Ceremony, the Eurovision village, the Press Centre, the Press Conferences, etc)
While Article 2.6 of the ESC rules prohibits the promotion of above-kind of messages, the prohibition legally relates to only ESC events, which excludes the National Selections. Thus, in case entries confirmed by National Broadcaster are considered to breach the rule, the country might be disqualified from the contest, such as in case of 2009 entry of Georgia. (We do not wanna put in) However, at the moment, the legal basis of the Eurovision does not allow EBU to have a binding say on the issue of Vidbir. At best, it can communicate with broadcaster, but the final decision is still up to the national broadcaster as the issue of National Selection is considered internal.
Thus, I do not think the petition would have any impact on the decision of Ukraine.
