Austrian Entry:
Johann K. - "Lonely Boy"
Recap: 1:32/1:33+ Johann K. (or actually Hans Krankl) was a professional footballer, one of Austria's football legends. In the 70s/80s he played as striker for FC Barcelona for instance. During or mostly after his sports career he also recorded some songs and albums as singer, and here's perhaps his most famous track, it's also the soundtrack of some famous Austrian dating show

This entry would've fit a lot more in previous edition in Austria, but I totally forgot about it back then, so I'm using it now.. it's possible that you've already heard this or some other version of this song somewhere For the first time in Latvia's contest history we are going with a song in german! The song itself is a Russian-Jewish folk and love song in the Yiddish language. But I'm gonna use a german language version of it! This particular version was included in her 1975 album. The singer that will perform it in Ireland is gonna be Larisa Mondrusa! The song fits her pretty well, because she herself is of Jewish descent! She wasn't born in Latvia, but she has lived here first 21 years of her life, then got married and lived in Moscow, but in 1971 she was de facto barred from appearing on television, so in 1973 she decided to emigrate to West Germany, where she continued her musical career up until 1982, when her son was born. Since then she hasn't really recorded anything new, although she still live-performs on some occasions. Larisa Mondrusa (AKA Larissa or Larisa Modrus (depending on the country she lived and performed)) "Tum Balalaika" (2:03 onwards, please) PIC: or

The second national selection of Azerbaijan ("Monir və sən" - which can be translated as "Monir and you") in its participation history in Retro WWWSC is over and the next entry of according to your votes is: Monir Vakili - Parvaneh Monir Vakili was a legendary name of Iranian opera music. Iranian Azerbaijani soprano, according to Wikipedia, was the first singer to popularize Persian Folk Songs in Iran and the international music scene. This song has been one of the soundtracks in the movie named 'Kyodai makes the big time' (for those of you who want to watch that scene from the movie: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jy_uONvluM)As a timeslot, please take 1:44-2:08 (from the first video, not from the video including movie scenes) You can use the picture shared below in the recap: If you are interested in the details of national selection, click on the spoiler below Overall, 7 people voted in my national selection, which is one more people compared to the first national final. I want to thank you to Fifi fabbi Shovkovskyi/Peter superjonno ferrygraf Laurinda mimisthesc for voting in 'Monir and you' (the last three are my guesses, as they didn't comment on whether they voted or not, but if it is other people, I wanna extend my gratitude to whoever participated in voting) In the end Parvaneh got 4 out of 7 votes against La laiee with 3 votes.
