Isn't Philippines dangerous? There is a travel warning to go there in USA. It says because of terrorists Well, there's that. It's quite dangerous everywhere and basically we don't know the exact locations of the different kinds of terrorists but I can say that it's more dangerous on the southern region of Mindanao where it's really chaotic. The Luzon and Visayas regions are okay. Actually, we went to Cebu (which is a 45 min.-1 hr. plane travel from Manila) last April and it's a lot better there than that of Manila although they speak a different dialect so we can't understand each other much, one of the best places in the Philippines nonetheless. The case in Manila, however, is like visiting Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta or Bangkok even if I haven't been to those places but the way I see it on TLC, Nat. Geo. or Discovery Channel, it differs only minimally with it's neighboring countries' capitals. But if there's a travel hold posted for the Philippines in the U.S. then it's better not to go. ;D

It happens also in Manila, that's why when we, most especially when I go there by myself (unless I know the place I'm heading), I refuse to ride in on taxis 'cause majority of them would practically do the same. It's really a sad thing. And yes, people in Manila also drives really fast and crazily and they honk obnoxiously when a slow car gets in front of them. Where I live, a 3-4 hour travel south from Manila, has a nice environment. Sure, crimes also happen (although it suddenly happened simultaneously on this year), I guess it's safe to say that it's safer here rather than in Manila.
