Thank you very much for your votes! This is a third place for France, but behind two massive hits. By the way, if you look at the history of the contest, the former record of points was 162 points. The winner and the runner-up completely blew it away. And the French song received as much points as the most successful runner-up of the history of the contest (137 points - the absolute record for a 3rd place was 125 points). The French record has also been beaten: Alizée has now the second highest total of points for a French song, while Julie Zenatti obtained the first and the third place of this ranking.

So tonight, the ranking is secondary, the most important thing is that I have the answer I was seeking for quite a long time: "Moi Lolita" is not the only French song that is able to win the contest.

I was a big fan of Katy Perry in the beginning of her career so the was logical.

Same for the , the choice of Italy was quite obvious. By the way, I have a mysterious personal story about this song. It was during a student party. Among the numerous animations, there was a karaoke. A mistake had been done, and the music of "Con te partiro" began but nobody asked for it. And a volunteer was needed, someone who was at least able to read the lyrics. So I received the micro and I tried to do my best with a song that is almost impossible to sing for someone who hasn't taken any singing lesson like me. To be clear, I can't control my voice very well, and at that time, I haven't discovered yet that my voice was more stable with low vocals than my natural range (tenor). But surprisingly, my interpretation was not horrible. Of course, I cheated a bit with the most technical parts of the melody but the result was listenable (for a karaoke). And since I reached the end of the song and was still alive, I decided to do something crazy on the last note: trying to produce a true operatic tenor note. I never tried to sing with the full power of my voice (and I haven't done it again by the way) because the result of such an experiment was quite predictable. But that night, something mysterious occurred: I actually managed to control the note and the vibrato during something like 15 seconds. How did it work? I have absolutely no idea. But I believe there is something special with this song.

Twice in one decade, Canada achieves its worst positions. I didn't have that high of expectations, as I sent as I had recently finished binging HIMYM, but I never expected the song to do that bad. Thanks to CHAE WITH A C though for and to the 3 others who voted for the song.

Moving on from Canada's worst ever position, the country will celebrate its 30th participation next edition. As a result, I will send a famous song, for the first time since Ka-Ching!, to honor the occasion.
