As I said before, choosing the song among those I pre-selected was the hardest part of the job. I already had a quite precise idea of what kind of sound I wanted so I made a list of 13 pop songs. Some of them were soft, other ones more dynamic, and I would have sent most of them. I finally chose the emerging talent Ida Paul, mainly for the sweetness of her voice. Since she is unknown on the forum, a little introduction. Ida is 21 years old. She is born in Finland from an American father and a Finnish mother. She spent several years in the USA during her childhood, then came back in Finland and she is currently managing a career of singer in Finland while she is studying at Harvard University. She was signed by Warner Music Finland in 2016. She will compete with her first single called Laukauksia pimeään, which means Gunshots into the dark. The plot is about a girl who was left by her boyfriend but keeps leaving messages hoping that he would change his mind. Ida Paul has been nominated for the Emma Award of Best Newcomer for her second album in 2018. For the timeslot, I focused on the softest chorus, again for the sweetness of her voice. So, sup Norway? You once again need someone who gave you a Top 5 finish in a previous edition, from Greece, intelligent and handsome? Well, you came to the right person!
 MORGAN SULELE WILL REPRESENT NORWAY
Once again, Norway will make its decision internally, and will send Magnus Clausen (aka Morgan Sulele). Born in Bærum, a municipality inthesouthern part of Norway, Morgan started his career in 2012, when he started posting his original music on his own self-titled YouTube channel. He rose to fame through the release of his debut album Morgans kleineste in 2015, 3 of its songs reached the charts in Norway, with "Bare Min" hitting the first place + entering the Swedish charts.
Now, he'll be waving the Norwegian flag in the ESC Rules Contest, performing his song "Mellom veggene", where he's hoping to bring another great result back to his country!
