WHAT IS MUSIC CUP?
Music Cup is a contest loosely based on the FIFA World Cup, in which 32 countries take part in a tournament-style contest, battling it out for the victory. Each of the 32 countries will be divided into 8 groups of 4 for the group stage, just like in the World Cup, where they go through a round-robin style tournament to decide who moves on to the round of 16, from there into the quarter-finals, from there into the semi-finals and finally, the grand final, as well as the 3rd place play-off.
Any country or territory who also has a FIFA-sanctioned national men's football team is able to participate (211 countries), as well as four countries that are unaffiliated with FIFA (4 teams, excl. UK as each of its constituent countries will be able to take part separately).
| RULES
The only rules are that Eurovision songs aren't allowed and the artist must be from (either born or living in) the country they are representing. There will be no borrowing allowed for smaller countries, therefore you must think your entries through.
One thing to also keep in mind is that there will be no recaps, however you will be required to provide a timeslot for your song and the song must also be available on YouTube, if it is not, you are allowed to upload a 25 second clip of your song. This is because each of the rounds will be presented in a separate thread, with the YouTube videos starting from the chosen timeslot and playing for exactly 25 seconds. Of course, everyone is encouraged to listen to the songs in full if they have the time.
