Breganese Communications Network Re-Established WINTERSBOURG, 3/10/2018 - After several months of reconstruction and budgeting efforts, the RBI (Réseau Bregana d'Informations) has resolved or paid off a majority of its debts to the country of Bregana. In doing so, RBI aims to bring in or re-establish popular programming from the region, as well as become the premier broadcasting organization for Bregana. A primary requirement for member states of the FBA is a head, or lead, broadcaster. For many citizens, the news came with a sense of relief, but for most, it was just business as usual. "It is important for a country of our size and population to have a steady, consistent, and unbiased stream of news and programs directed for the Breganese people," said Communications Director Jean-Paul Richmond. "I don't watch TV. Who cares," rebutted citizen Charles DuLoup. In the coming months, RBI aims to complete the rudimentary tasks necessary to establish connections with its neighbors, and achieve associate member status in the FBA, which would open the doors to additional programming and benefits.

Tiffany Pollard closes car door
It's something millions of us do every single day, but when the pioneer and queen of reality television closed her car door on Tuesday, the internet was watching and had something to say.
Arriving at the Royal Academy of Arts to attend her first solo event since being knighted, Tiffany stepped out of her car - having had the door opened. She then shut it behind her.
Some praised her "down to earth" and "humble" attitude, while others joked she may put someone out of a job. Etiquette and protocol coach William Hanson pointed out that this was not in fact a protocol breach.

MORE UPDATES FROM THE TORLOVA-BEKLIUM SITUATION Nearly a month ago, the classified documents of the Torlovan president were leaked, exposing an extremely controversial move regarding the Beklium region. Protests are rising in the capital Estambla, and campaigns to force Alp Sametler to resign, after the follow-up of the tragic events that are extremely against human rights taking into account that Beklium is the symbol of peace between the two countries, and mustn't be used as a provocation against Corzazjan, the Torlovan republic condemns these actions. The president still keeps his silence, and not releasing an official statement, everyone is unsure about what is happening right now.

Hostage couple returns to Niolskiaj Saturday, 6 October 2018 • Drukana
Following a long running scandal regarding a Niol husband-wife music duo being held hostage by an unknown delegation team for the Fantasia Contest, today the public celebrated as Iain and Rebecca Campbell returned to Niolskiaj, stepping foot in Drukana for the first time since their disappearance earlier this year. Reports suggest that the delegation team forced the duo to perform in a national selection, although Niol delegates claim they "searched all relevant selections" and "found no trace" of the duo's participation. The Campbells today released a brief statement, saying "We do not want to have an entire nation's reputation publicly tarnished for the actions of a few people within, and as such we will give no further information, but ils sont fats."

Referendum on the Sjólandic question to be held this week!
Protesters on Sráid na Saoirse, Dyflinnjaborg
In light of recent events in Sjóland with regards to the Sjóborg attack in August 2018, which left 16 dead, the question of Sjóland's status has once again been brought up. During the last few weeks, many in the region have started to question their region's status and whether they should remain autonomous, or to grow closer towards Dýria as a whole; and a set few wishing to gain independence. Currently, Sjóland is an autonomous region of Dýria that has gone through over 60 years of war and secession attempts - seeking independence from the rest of Dýria. However, since the election of president Ingibjörg Egilsdóttir in 2016, alongside her positive attitude towards Sjólandic culture and language rights, the aspiration for independence has died down. Only 9% in a recent poll stated that they would rather be an independent state, with 87% stating that they would rather remain part of Dýria. In the past 2 years, Sjólandic has been given a bigger status in the country; it is now one of the 4 official languages of Dýria, alongside Dýrian, Irsan and Brittonic, and has now a large amount of recognition.
In Sjóborg, politicians have struck a deal with the Dýrian government to hold a referendum on the status of Sjóland, which is to be held by Saturday, 13th of October. The referendum will be simple, but very important - as Sjólanders will be given a chance to possibly change the status of their region.
The referendum question will be: Do you wish for Sjóland to remain an autonomous province of Dýria, as was agreed upon in the Sjóborg Accord of 2009? Should voters choose yes, the status of Sjóland will remain unchanged - they will continue to be an autonomous province of Dýria. Should voters choose no, 2 further options will be proposed - independence or integration with the rest of Dýria.
In a poll today, only 56% of respondents have stated that they would definitely vote to keep their autonomy, which is surprisingly low. 39% of respondents have stated that they would change their region's status, with 98% of them wishing integration with Dýria, while 2% would seek independence. 5% have stated that they are undecided. However, this doesn't represent the overall wishes and the referendum result could be very different.
Although the president has stated in the past that Sjóland will not be given another chance of independence, she has stated that this referendum will ultimately decide the fate of Sjóland and that voters should take into consideration many factors that may effect their lives when voting.

Sjólandic referendum results are in!
Yesterday, registered voters in Sjóland were asked a simple but very important question regarding their status as an autonomous province of Dýria.
Televised debates were held on DRTV and SVS (the regional broadcaster for Sjóland) over the course of the week talking about why Sjóland should keep their autonomy, and why Sjóland should become a normal region of Dýria. Many issues were addressed, especially regarding the recent terror attack on Sjóborg in August 2018, which raised questions about Sjóland's status and role in Dýria in general.
The question on the ballot was (translated from Sjólandic): Do you wish for Sjóland to remain an autonomous region of Dýria, as was agreed upon in the 2009 Sjóborg accord?
84,281 citizens were eligible to vote in the referendum, out of Sjóland's population of 120,401. 85% percent showed up and voted in the referendum, which equals to 71,639.
The result was as follows:
No - 38,685 (54%) Yes - 32,237 (46%) Invalid: 717 (1%)
Voters were also asked while voting to answer a second question on the ballot; In the event of a no vote, which option would you vote for?
Integration with Dýria - 69,490 (97%) Independence - 1,432 (2%) Invalid: 717 (1%)
What happens now?
A transitional period of 1 month will be given for Sjóland to officially become a region of Dýria once again. This change must occur by the 13th of November 2018. Although voters voted to integrate into Dýria, nothing major will be changing. The Sjólandic regional council will still be responsible for promoting the Sjólandic language and culture, and for also collecting votes from the citizens in Dýrian elections.
Sjólandic will remain the official language of the region, and Elín Æbjörgsdóttir, previous mayor of Sjóborg, will keep her position until 2019.
Many celebrated the result on the streets of Sjóborg today, marking a new era of friendly and closer ties with the rest of their country as a whole. Others, who voted to keeping Sjólandic autonomy, did protest in Sjóborg and Dyflinnjaborg, although activists on the yes side have stated that they will accept the result, and hope that this vote will lead to a peaceful future in Sjóland.
The Dýrian president has also recognized the result, and stated that; Today, citizens of Sjóland decided on what was best for their future; not what was best for Dýria's future, but for theirs. The majority has spoken - and now with this vote, we will continue to embrace Sjólandic culture and the Sjólandic language, while continuing to support the region as we did for many years. With this vote, it allows for a peaceful future between Sjóland and Dýria, as it should have been.

Lakadamia - Plans on a change of the Administative Divisions of the country. Pavlodia - 14/10/18
It has been one of the most discussed topic in Lakadamia since the end of Winter, and since the completion of the account of the population of the period 2018 - 2020, but the current government plans on a change about the number of Administrative Divisions of the Lakadasian country.
However, due to Lakadamia being in an electoral period at this moment, with the elections of the 761 Deputees happening on the 21 October, the government already confirmed that, if these change happens, the amount of deputees may also adapt to these changes. Currently, the USL and the Greens, which are the favorites of the elections, are in favour of changes for those Administrative Divisions.
But overall, what does these changes will do ? Firstly, it will reduce the amount of AD in Lakadamia, from 35 at the moment, they will be reduced to around 20 to 25 AD. - It will be less complicated. Currently, Lakadamia posseeses 4 types of Administrative Divisions, the most liked idea is to completely remove the Departments, and to transform some into Territories. - And finally, It will give them more relevance for some of the territories/departments, 8 of them have currently less than a million of inhabitants. And in most of the cases, are underrepresented in the Political life of the country. - Last but not least, Economy.
Note: you can find a list of the current Administrative Divisions here: forum.songcontests.eu/post/801074/thread
Currently, Lakadamia looks like this:
And in the future, Lakadamia would look like this:
As being seen, most of the territories will become bigger by size, but also by population. The current plans are going to create 21 Administrative Divisions, 13 of them being Territories, the last 8 are divided onto 3 Federal District, and the 5 Autonomous Republics of the Federation.
With these changes, only 2 Territories will be under the 1 Million of Inhabitants. According to some inhabitants, out of 150 Pavlodians asked, more than 70% would be in favour of these changes.
As the elections are getting closer, this question will most likely be one of the thematics of the elections of next Sunday, This happening is now only on the hand of the 30 Millions of Lakadamians which will be available to vote next Sunday.
