Is this the end of an era?
The headquarters of Jondelsia Television in Nárias, nearby Lepalia During the last weeks, there were rumours that the Jondelsia Public Service Corporation, the state-run organization responsible for public broadcasting in the country, would suffer major changes. But today, the chairman of the corporation Mário Fredriksson officially announced on a special communicate that the JPSC would cease its operations in the following weeks. Initially established in 1958 as Radio Jondelsia after starting regular radio broadcasts and then merged into the JPSC after regular television broadcasts started in 1964, it has been bringing public service broadcast to over 100,000 households throughout the country. Since its inception the JPSC was owned by the government. However, since the passing of the Decentralization Law in 1996, which also affected public service broadcasting, it has been headed by a group of seven people, one from each federal region, appointed by their respective regional broadcaster.
While no specific reasons were given for the shutdown of the JPSC, unofficial sources hint administrative instability within the organisation, lack of resources and the need for a reform given the current cultural panorama in the country as the main reasons for this operation.
"For 65 years, at the JPSC, we have been bringing quality broadcasts to over a million people and 100,000 homes in the Republic. We're happy to be a part of history of Jondelsian television and radio. Our mission as public service agents is fulfilled. However though, we consider that our time here is done. We are facing a turning point in the history of our broadcasting and we feel like these changes are necessary. It was a hard decision, but I'm sure this will come out for the best." - said Mário Fredriksson, chariman of the soon-to-be defunct JPSC.
Not too much information was given regarding the shutdown, sources within the JPSC claim that the shutdown is set to start in mid-November and to be completed on the first days of 2025. It remains unclear whether JTV and Jondelsia Radio will also shutdown or will be transfered to the new organisation.
As mentioned earlier, each federal region has its own company who broadcasts into their respective territories in their languages, these being: the NRK in Narenalia, the RTF in Fredréa, the MRT in the Isle of Marte, the SNM in Merlów, the TRA in Aransk, the DTU in Dyshgrad and LRTC in Larvichy. These seven broadcasters are expected to hold a meeting in the following days to discuss the future of the Jondelsian public broadcasting service and the possible new organization which will take over the duties of the soon-to-be defunct JPSC.
More details about this historic moment in Jondelsian broadcasting history are to be provided in due course.

A request given for decades by the natives Salpa Rétri (First People) of Lakadamia was left on deaf ears by the different governments of the federation, until the 28 October 2024, where the left-wing government of Jonas de Mésathi has officialed that they would access the request of transforming about 90% of the superficy of the Great Lakadamian Desert, into a natural and protective reserve. The Desert has been always recognized as a place of a huge importance culturally and religiously for the Salpa Rétri that represent up to 10% of Lakadamia's population, is present in every territories of the mainland. Their wishes to make it a natural reserve officially set so that future governments or private companies will not be allowed to exploit its natural ressources.
Rough localisation of the Great Lakadamian Desert, which spans across eight Administrative Divisions in the West of Lakadamia. An area as large as Namimori, Kuwiang and Qasentria combined.
The question has now been sent to the assemblée nationale, where the deputees will be able to vote, and also to the Salparétri Piyüpo, the first people parliament, which, if both votes in favour, will enable the area to become a Federal Natural and Protective Reserve. The vote is set for the 4 and 6 November in both chambers.
So far, every major parties from the left and center side have confirmed they will vote in favour. Only the Parti National hasn't said anything, known to vote against everything... or for their constant abstension in the parliament.

The end of the broadcasting crisis. After the announcement of the closure of the JPSC (Jondelsia Public Service Corporation) and the consequent shutdown of Jondelsia Televisions and Jondelsia Radio two weeks ago, there has been a huge concern among the populace regarding the future of our broadcasting services. While JTV and JR have been operating without any major hiccups, the shutdown proccess has been accelerated and it will conclude in the next week. In the meantime, during these last days, the broadcasters of the federal regions of Aransk, Dyshgrad, Fredréa, Larvichy, Marte, Merlów and Narenalia have been in discussions regarding the creation of a new network in the country. Following countless meetings, it can be officially announced that a solution has been found to the crisis.
The logo of the JFK
Today, the head of the Narenalian broadcaster NRK and one of the percursors of this initiative, Ole Ovrebø has announced on a press conference that the Federal Broadcasting Union of the Republic of Jondelsia, (Føderal Kringekastingsforening av Respublikka Jondelsia) or the JFK for short, will be the new broadcasting organization of the country. Ovrebø stated that "the goal of the foundation of the JFK is to represent the common interests of the new, decentralised broadcasting services – in particular the introduction of a joint television network", renouncing any influence from the government, as all members of the JFK have an independent position.
The new broadcaster will operate four national television channels and four radio stations. All channels will provide broadcast in the Jondelsian language. It will be funded exclusively by the regional broadcasters and a licence fee in which every household, company and public institution, regardless of television ownership, will be required by law to pay, meaning that the JFK will not have to depend on advertising or the government.
All JFK television and radio channels
• JFK 1 will be the flagship national television channel and will provide general programming, including Dagsnytt news bulletins, cinema and entertainment, as well as major breaking news, sports and special events. • JFK 2 will provide cultural programming, focusing on documentaries about the history of the country and various art magazines (such as music, cinema, architecture, etc...), whilst also broadcasting live concerts. • JFK 3 is directed to the younger audiences and it will provide two programming plans. It will brodcast programming directed at audiences between 16 and 35 years old from 16:00 to 6:00, such as entertainment, particularly new comedies, drama, music, fashion and documentaries, while it will broadcast children programming from 6:00 to 16:00. • Also, for the first time in Jondelsian television history, there will be a 24-hour news channel, named JFK 24, which will broadcast directly from the JFK headquarters.
All television channels will also have a sign language version, JFK Tengespråk, which will be available on the JFK website.
• As for the radio, JFK P1 will provide generalist programming focusing mainly on news, current affairs and sport, as well as the discussion of contemporary social issues, in a more "thought-provoking approach". • JFK P2 will focus on culture, science and society. • JFK P3 will provide youth culture broadcasting, principally music, together with humour, entertainment shows, and health education. It will also provide a Traffic Message Channel for delivering traffic and travel information. • JFK P4 will be focused on special-interest music (classical, jazz, folk music).
The future of the country in the contest. It is worth mentioning that the crisis raised some concern between fans of the contest as Jondelsia Televisions has been overseeing the participation of the Republic at the Fantasia Contest since its debut in the 32nd edition and there was some rumours that the country would withdraw. The news come when Jondelsia has achieved its second qualification in Zakaslovia this edition and public interest is at a very high point. The JFK will submit an application for FBA membership shortly and should their application get accepted, they will take over the participation of the country from next edition.

Dýrian news update 03 nóvember 2024 03 Samhain 2024 03 Novembur 2024 03 Du 2024 Here are the latest news updates from Dýria.
Snap election will be held in December as the government's popularity declines.
Taoiseach of Dýria, Sinéad Kýosdóttir, pictured in 2024.
The Taoiseach (PM) of Dýria, Sinéad Kýosdóttir (DDP) and Tánaiste (Deputy PM), Caitríona Arnarsdóttir (CG), after facing mounting calls to address multiple controversies that have surfaced involving both of their parties under the current coalition agreement that has been in place since 2022, have agreed to dissolve the Alþingi. The current coalition of the DDP, CG and PP has existed since 2022 and initially held a 63 seat majority, although that has shrunk to 56.
In recent weeks, DRTV have reported that there was evidence that the Taoiseach and Tánaiste both accepted foreign donations during their last election campaigns which is not allowed under Dýrian election law. Not only that, but the 3 government parties are currently facing scrutiny for allowing a ₦300,000 bike shed to be built on the premises of the Alþingi, which neither party disclosed the price of until construction was complete.
The Taoiseach has also failed to deliver on some of her previous election promises from her 2019 and 2022 campaigns, which involved eliminating tuition fees for 3rd level students, expanding affordable housing and paving the way for a referendum on allowing Dýrian citizens abroad to vote in general elections - which she and the Tánaiste ultimately decided against in a vote.
The People's Party are also facing scrutiny with the general negative image of their leader and walking back on many of their election promises, should they enter into government with the DDP & CG, including voting alongside the government to not bring forward a referendum on expanding voting rights to Dýrians abroad, even though in their manifesto they supported it.
A motion of no-confidence was threatened by Fañch Ragnarsson, the leader of the largest oppositional party Adsevel! (Forward!) over the government's refusal to address scandals and the Taoiseach & Tánaiste's covering up of illegal donations and incidents involving previously suspended TDs. Knowing that the government would not survive the motion of no-confidence with their small majority of 56 TDs, the three leaders agreed to dissolve the Alþingi, with an election being held in December 2024. The Taoiseach will meet with the president tomorrow to ask for her formal approval to dissolve the Alþingi. The leader of the opposition stated that:
The Taoiseach and Tánaiste, alongside their new partners from the PP, have failed the Dýrian people. Their incompetence in recent years with regards to scandals and walking back on election promises should hopefully motivate the Dýrian people to vote for a new path forward, without the DDP and CG. Their 10 year reign is coming to an end, whether they want to admit it or not.
Although the DDP & CG held a healthy lead in national polls since 2022, that is no longer the case. In a recent DRTV poll conducted in October 2024, it found that Adsevel and Broyting Fyri Dýria were polling at 21% and 19% respectively, while the DDP and CG were polling around 15% and 13% respectively. The PP is poised to suffer the worst defeat out of the government parties, as they are only polling around 7% in this poll. The poll also found that the Taoiseach's popularity has dropped - dropping from a 59% approval rating in April, to a 44% approval rating in October.
President Egilsdóttir will not complete her term, resigning in 2025.
Right before the news of the government's intention to hold an election, the president of Dýria, Ingibjörg Egilsdóttir, has announced that she will not complete the remaining 2 years of her term, and will be resigning on February 1st 2025. Her last official act as president will be swearing in the new government which is expected to be formed in January 2025. President Egilsdóttir has held her position since 2016 and was elected uncontested in 2021. Speculation around her willingness to complete her term arose in 2023, although she confirmed then that she would complete the term. She has since stated that she will resign in 2025, choosing to focus on her fashion career and her family instead. She stated to DRTV that:
Being president of my country was the biggest honour I ever received in my life and I will never forget it. I thank the Dýrian people for putting their trust in me, and I hope that we can continue to put our nation on a positive path going forward.
A presidential election will likely be held in the first week of March 2025. Dýria's biggest celebrity, Nene Leakes, is expected to contest the election. However her role will be mainly ceremonial, as the president holds little power.

河川鳥杏のニュース:6 巻 News from Qasentria - Vol. 6 LaSalle Ward, Marianne, 7 November 2024
The Political Party has Ceased The final leader of Avenir pour Qasentria leader, Julie Maday, was the last candidate run by the party prior to their mandated shuttering. Local elections in Qasentria have happened. While it will take time for the ballots to be officially counted (likely a week), there is one certainty in the election. This will be the final election contested by Avenir pour Qasentria.
Avenir pour Qasentria is a political party that has advertised themselves as a "party by white Qasentria for white Qasentria." And yes, the party is a far-right one.
Their shuttering comes at the mandate of the Qasentrian Supreme Court. In 2021, the Parliament passed a law stating that any party engaging in election denialism would be forced to shutter. Koike Yuriko (PAP, Yukonomina 6), a cosigner of the law, stated that "any attempts to undermine the sanctity of Qasentrian democracy should be dealt with in the harshest of manners."
Julie Maday, the leader of the party, as well as the only candidate who ran as a member of that party, was well known as a controversial figure in the nation. Despite running in the Oberlin Subprefecture (one of several in Eclia), her permanent address was reported to be in Cabacier Subprefecture in Crowflock. She also was known for going on several tirades about the "wokification" of Qasentria. When asked what that term meant, she dodged the question and ranted on homosexuality.
The last straw came during the final two weeks of the election cycle. As the only candidate for her party running, she was also on the ballot as a candidate for the Prime Ministerial position. During a campaign stop in Kelna, Viancia, she made the statement that would kill not just her campaign, but her party's existence. She said, "No matter what those bastards like [Nico] Eisenhuth [(Pirate, Casanovia Ward 3)] will make you think, this election will not be won by votes from the people, but from [this word has been removed due to Qasentrian legislation regarding the publication of slurs in media] lovers who deserve to be deported back to Wulfor where they came from. They've very obviously spoiled the election by existing."
Qasentrian Supreme Court Justice Hon. Kyla Petit-Frère stated in the unanimous decision that comments like the Kelna comments from Maday were cause to invoke this young law. She also stated that Maday would be henceforth barred from ever running for political office. Ever.
However, Maday would not go down without a fight. Following this decision, she accused the the Supreme Court for having it out for her. She even went as far to say that she should be sworn into office at that exact moment, stating, "if Qasentria refuses to allow a true patriot to run for office, then maybe I should move to a nation that will appreciate people like me. Harish Islands, here I come."
When asked about the law she made affecting a likely collaborator in the opposition, Koike said, "truthfully, we all hated that bitch. I think it wouldn't have been off the card if all of the parties got into government because we didn't want to deal with her."
