WHO APPLIED? WHO DIDN'T?
On Thursday 10th January (23:59:59 CET), the submission period for "Dora 2019" is closed. According to Eurosong.hr's sources, approx 150 songs arrived to HRT's adress, and we will probably get the line-up next week. Our media was very interested to see who applied, and who didn't, so I would like to take this opportunity to bring you news.
* JACQUES HOUDEK - our 2017 contestant, he can't deny he is a huge Eurovision fan. For 2019, he applied, but as a co-author of a song titled "The Dream". With his "My Friend" team, he wrote for a youngster Roko Blažević, an aspiring 16 year old singer, who just came from RTL's show "Zvijezde" (runner-up). According to his interview, it's a song especially written for Eurovision and he already started to talk with people who can sponsor Roko's performance in Tel Aviv, in case he wins.
* LIDIJA BAČIĆ - she calls herself a singer, but lesbihonest, she is mostly known for her half-naked selfies. She was teasing how she doesn't know if she will apply or not, but apparently she found a song. Poor us if she makes the line-up.
* DAMIR KEDŽO - winner of New Wave 2015, Kedžo is rumoured to represent Croatia for the last two or three years. Thanks to his victory in NW, he made some contacts with foreign composers (rumour has it - it's Gabriel Alares), and he has already an entire album in English prepared for this occasion.
* NEDA PARMAĆ (ex-Feminnem) - eventhough she was already twice on Eurovision (2005 and 2010), Neda isn't giving up and wants to go for a third time! This time, with her sister Sanja and Romana Pavliša in a girlband called Gelato Sisters. Their style is inspired by 1950s music, and she admitted the song was co-written by her brother-in-law Tvrtko Hrelec.
* TEŠKA INDUSTRIJA - one of their members Ivica Propadalo made the statuette for Dora. Nine year after the band's flop on Dora, they want to participate again.
* KIM VERSON - she won the second season of Hrvatska traži zvijezdu (Croatian Idol), but she soon faded into obscurity.
* ČETIRI TENORA - an opera quartet, recently they performed on NYE's party in Zagreb, and made a lot of people unsatisfied.
* MILA ELEGOVIĆ - actress, she wants to get some promotion with a song she penned with Tihomir Preradović.
* NIKITA IVOŠEVIĆ - former CRO-dance star, Nikita became a caricature, who appears only on FB when she needs to comment Dora connected news on Eurosong.hr. She said her song is pop-rock.
* MERI ANDRAKOVIĆ - a former contestant in "RTL Zvjezdice", Meri signed for Croatia Records, and she applied with a song written by Boris Đurđević (wrote Celebrate).
* PATRICIJA GAŠPARINI - also a former HTZ alumni, she disappeared the same moment she was evicted from the show. Recently, she started to release some material, but it's all with a small number of views.
* MARIO ZEKANOVIĆ - TBH, neither do I know who he is. Google says he is from Šibenik.
Many more probably also applied, but haven't confirmed.
DIDN'T APPLY: Magazin, Jelena Rozga, Petar Grašo, Danijela Martinović, Jasmin Stavros, Mladen Grdović
, Maja Šuput, Indira Levak
