Super classy, and underrated as well. Gives me vibes like you're in a cafe or something ( lol so many songs getting my 12s this year it's incredible)

It's not the goodbye that hurts but the flashbacks that follow.

Why can't you hold me in the street? Why can't I kiss you on the dance floor?

This song is literally forgettable to me. I remember really light jazzy acoustic guitar-driven melodies, and a female sings it. But that’s it. And for me, a song that is ranked low not because I hate it but because it’s utterly forgettable is about the worst crime there is. I did go back and give it a full listen for the first time in weeks so I could write this post. And you know what? At first, I started to crawl back on board the train. It’s jazzy, it’s a bit country and folk, the lead female singer has a nice voice, and I can fully admire the musicianship of the band (the song is self-written; a truly Latvian product.) But at the 1:30 mark, the chorus goes: “Wah-ha-ho, I need you, Wah-ha-ho, where are you, wah-ha-ho, all night through.” I hope you like these lyrics as much as Carousel do because it’s all you’re going to get - it’s the rest of the song. It's those lines over, and over, and over again. I need you, where are you, all night through. Sometimes this works. Norway's 1993 entry was two verses, followed by two laps of the chorus. But musically each half was very different, very Norwegian, and you could clap along! This song, on the other hand, just breezes by. So I'm sorry but this year Latvia is ranked my 41st. Nothing that Carousel have done defines them as a *bad* musical group - please don’t come away from this post with that message. For Eurovision, it’s a unique sound and style; sure. But this song is not competitive, it’s not fun, it’s not demonstrating anything new, and I’m genuinely sad about how I want to roll my eyes and click ‘next’ after every listen. Maybe I just hear too much of this style of music in America, cuz I hated Waylon's entry too, so take this as you will.

I like the atmosphere the song's creating. But I also think it's misplaced in Eurovision. It'd rather fit into a jazz bar or our local Starbucks lol. All in all down to because it's just boring.
