Up to now, but I still don't get the hype over it.

Why can't you hold me in the street? Why can't I kiss you on the dance floor?

(maybe even ) Katerine Duska’s “Better Love” is a return to what Greeks are known for: class. The first thing people will notice about “Better Love” is Duska’s voice: smooth but deep with raspy undertones. Then she gets into the high registers in the chorus and it sounds more like a tweeting bird. Very unique! The second thing people will notice is (maybe) the words of the song, which is pretty straightforward: “Better love, better love - all that we’re after - way to love, who you love.” That should resonate well in the same way songs from the past have. Duska co-wrote the song with help from some Greek and Scottish comrades. I really like the strength of the choruses, although the millennial whoop makes an appearance, and there are some empty seconds of sound that fit well in an arena-type setting but could look odd if the camera angle isn’t quite right. In live appearances, Duska hits all the notes very well but is rather stoic save for some arm waves. All this being said, I have no doubt something will become of this, since the Greek delegation always has a “plan” for staging. Not only will Europe get the message of this song, it could get a bit romantic on stage… This is the type of song juries really love, so whether or not this is in contention really depends on the type of stage show we get. The song sits just outside my Top 10 because a) there’s just a lot of settled acts in my Top that I’d rather not bump out, and b) it didn’t strike a strong chord on my first listen. Perhaps I’m not the audience for this song, though; someone who’s currently in love (oops) or… i don’t know, people who love pink? There was an intense amount of pink in that music video. Well done to Greece, and welcome back to the Final
