This can use a huge revamp. What a downgrade from last years.

I am most definitely in the minority but I actually find it quite likeable, so I am going for a right now. I feel like people are just butthurt about Barbora, ngl, no way in hell this is a .

It's a step down and easily the weakest Czech entry since we returned (IMO) but it was easily my favorite in our weak selection and the only song I remember to this day but we all know that any of our songs would flop

yet another I wanted Lana del Rey but instead we got some young guy with a "woke" song that honestly sounds like it was plucked from Shutterstock

1 their worst song ever. The lyrics are the cringiest thing I have ever encountered, the rhythm is repeating and the song as a whole is extremely irritating. I honestly can't find anything good in it, and I don't say that often

------------------------------------------------------------ ▲▼▲▼▲▼△▽△▽△▽ 06 // Like------------------------------------------------------------In a sea of very unforgettable entries, I wasn't exactly having the biggest hopes in a fantastic winner either ways, but hey, at least my favourite won, so that's at least one good thing o/Space Sushi receiving the public 12 points is still a gag, though.Onto the song; not much to judge based on live performance (cuz that don't exist in Czech Republic anymore, apparently), so studio judgement it is. I fairly enjoy listening to this, as it has a very chill feel to it, with the electro/synth sounds, and it doesn't try to be anything besides that. Besides that, it really isn't that strong either, and it's not something I "love" either, though I am still debating whether it's a or a at the moment, but for now, a it is. Onto some more negatives: the fake english accent in "she was my neighbour [...]" is just annoying to listen to, and the lyrics could have been much better, (Can you hear it? There's someone behind the wall making the same sounds. Can you hear it? It sounds like you and me when we're making love?) Like, come on now...I also struggle to see any sort of stage potential in this that could elevate the song live, but overall, I like Friend of a Friend as a whole, and it may-or-may-not be a grower, but only time can tell. Kind of a shame Barbora didn't do that well, considered she was the definite favourite over all, but imo, the song just felt bland for 2 minutes and 20 seconds, and then it starts to elevate, but it then just ends abruptly, making the song feel super rushed. Have to also agree with Andreas on the fact that her sounding like Lana del Rey barely shows any true identity from her as a singer. I could have been some stage/revamp potential for Barbora, but overall, Lake Malawi is definitely my preferable choice. Can it qualify? Yeeaaah, about that...Listening to all the songs when they were released already made me think that Czech Republic barely has any chances, no matter who they pick, and I still stand with that after Lake Malawi won. The only chances I could see them having for qualifying is if this year is either really terrible, or if they somehow manage to really shine on stage in Tel Aviv during May, but so far, without any proof of live performances from the band, I am gonna assume that Czech Republic is gonna really struggle in the semis this year. Overall? From a bad bunch of songs, Friend of a Friend was probably one of the better choices they could go for, but this definitely isn't gonna do a Lie to Me 2.0 in Tel Aviv.
Unless they have a revamp that can majorly change a lot of peoples minds, or a performance that can make them stand out a lot on stage, we might be missing Czech Republic in the finals once again. Either ways, I'm gonna go ahead and wish the very best of luck to Lake Malawi and Czech Republic through their Eurovision 2019 journey!
