I wanted Il Volo again and I didn't pay much attention to Mahmood but when I first heard the full song I loved it. Something different and modern coming from Italy. Yes.

I love it and it's growing on me more and more. I always clap-clap or click-click at the moment y'all would all think. Back-story - why (if you care lol) One of my best friends in real life is an immigrant to the UK born in Lebanon and even in 2019 she still gets racism thrown at her. So to be able to hear a country have someone openly have Arabic - even if its small - in their song makes me smile so much! I can't see the UK integrating natives who are born to Arabic speaking parents be inclusive and put a song like that in the UK selection for another few years - sadly.
Oh and Italian is one of the languages I said I'd focus on learning this year

Well this had the opposite effect on me than I was expecting and after few more listens I relized that this will be another overhyped Italian entry that if it will to badly with the jury, everyone will say how juries hate Italy. The more important thing is that I liked this song a lot but after more listens those things I liked just faded away.

a bunch of lovely songs in Sanremo this year tbh. shame one of my favs didn't win, but hey, not like the quality of the Italian entries has dropped due to the current winner
Mahmood's "Soldi" was really meh for me when I saw him perform it for the first time, but it quickly grew on me after it won. It has a chill, yet catchy beat to it, and it has a rather unique sound to it that you don't often get to hear everyday. Just a nice piece to listen to once in a while. His singing is also rather interesting to listen to. It just feels like this was the perfect choice for the song, and no other singer could possibly make this sound better, hadn't it been Mahmood doing so. My only criticism with his singing is the pre-chorus, where he goes "MondOo". It just almost sounds like autotune there, and it also scares me that a voice crack could come out in any second. Anyways, back to the song, the chorus is rather lackluster, but it's something you can get used to quickly, and the clapping is way too addicting to not clap along to. While they may be shadowed by the Italian language, the lyrics themselves are very special and interesting to read about, and is nothing I expected from this song at all. If the commentators could boost up the message behind the song to the viewers, it could easily bring a lot of votes towards Mahmood. And once again, I can't help myself but adore the Italian language in here, and the small bits and pieces of Arabic makes it sound more interesting and unique than what it already is.
At this rate, Italy could already grow into an , but at the moment, it will do with a , and I'll let time decide when it's time to give it higher or lower.
Will it do good in the final? Most likable. With all the reaction so far, I feel like it's already determined for Italy to reach a top 15 (if not top 10) in the Grand Final this year. The only hindrance for them is the staging. The clapping and simple staging worked out very well during San Remo, but I have no idea how it can be portrayed the same in Tel Aviv. But besides that, unless Italy doesn't do a major fuck up on stage, the Italians should stay determined for another good placing.
Overall, I still glad Italy didn't decrease in quality, and I am very sure Mahmood will bring Italy do another great placement. I hope for the best of luck to both Mahmood and Italy through out their Eurovision 2019 journey.
Alright, time to take a break after all these revi- Wait, there's four new songs to talk about? WELL THEN

I believe that this is the first Italian entry that I genuinely want to come back to, for me 2017 and 2018 weren't really exciting at all (unpopular opinion sorry)
