Fantasia Flag Tournament 2019
What is the Fantasia Flag Tournament?
The Fantasia Flag Tournament is a competition in which all the nations will fight for the title of the best flag of Fantasia.
How does it work?
First of all, it's not mandatory to vote. The competition is divided into three stages:
1. Qualification stage
In this round, every user will be able to vote for at least 10 flags of all the 84 present Fantasia nations will, including the one of the country they (co-)host, in the case they do. The 32 flags with the most votes will advance to the next round.
2. Groups stage
With the 32 flags left, a draw consisting of four pots will be made. The first pot will include the eight flags with the most votes in the qualification stage, the second pot will include the next eight more voted flags and so on. Despite this allocation, the full results of the qualification stage will not be known until the whole competition is over. With this, eight groups (from A to H) will be made, consisting of a flag of each of the pots created before.
There will be six battles in each group, which means that at some point all the flags in the group will compete against each other. Users will have to vote in the battles, selecting which of the flags they like the most. The two most voted flags of each group will advance to the next round. In the case of a draw, this will be broken by the results of the qualifying round.
3. Knockout stage
The knockout stage will be exactly the same as in the World Cup. It will be a single-elimination tournament in which the flags will compete against each other in one-off battles. It begins with the round of 16 in which the winner of each group will compete against the runner-up of another group. This will be followed by the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, the third-place battle (contested by the losing semi-finalists), and the final. In the case of draws, these will be broken by the results of the previous round.
