Fidan Qasımova - Я вас любил (Ya vas lyubil) Timeslot: 1:01 - 1:25 Я вас любил (trans: I loved you) is a Russian-language song from 1979 sung by a famous Azerbaijani opera singer Fidan Qasımova. It tells the story of a person who "loved silently and hopelessly" I like this song for three particular reasons: first, because of Fidan Qasımova, the singer, for her incredibly powerful vocals and emotions she conveys through her music; second, because of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, the lyricist, the worldwide renown Russian poet and novelist, for reflecting on sorrowful love from such a poetic perspective; and third, because of Qara Qarayev, the composer, one of the most prominent Azerbaijani composers of all time whose music echoes the pain and the melancholy of the story excellently.

Austria Jetzt Anders! - "Immer und ewig"1:46+
Jetzt Anders! was a short-lasting boyband from 2007, consisting of 4 participants of "Starmania" which was a popular Austrian casting show that took place around that time. Two of the members have already been in WWWSC alone, one of them got really famous later on. Perhaps you can recognize him

Slovenian entry This song screams EMA, but believe it or not, she never participated there. Here is something upbeat with oriental sounds: Kristina - Ne nosi diamantov (Don't Bring Diamonds)

It's Alanis Morissette with Ironic for Canada! To celebrate the New Year, it was decided that Alanis Morissette would represent Canada with her 1996 pop rock song Ironic. The song comes from her third studio album, Jagged Little Pill (1995).
