I think I will take the risk and say that this is my favorite Northvision contest design ever. First of all, collage has always been one of my favorite artistic techniques, especially when all the pieces are well put together and integrated, which is something extremely well achieved in this piece. Integrating a statue in the design is such an original but at the same time weird move which I personally love. The idea and the position of the baugasm are perfect for what the slogan and the design stand for. The font and especially the colors are stunning as well. What I also love is the fact that you can actually perceive that the design has had a lot of effort behind it, and I'm not trying to say that the rest of designs from any other contest do not (which is obviously not true), but the thing about this one is that you can see that even the smallest details have been adapted to the piece and how good everything came up together. Congratulations @garameaning for such a production, I'd say I'm impressed but I already knew you were capable of doing such a thing. Also props to Alper , coming up with such a concept is not something easy. |

I am not saying that the design is bad, it’s just that I personally don’t really like the statue itself and the concept of it being cut in half and Alexa being a host.
The colors and the slogan are great and you still did a great job tho.

Thank you for this constructive criticism, we appreciate it. Wasn’t really a fan of Baugasm before but even worse the logo (statue) looks really forced and the two parts look like they don’t belong together This gets even worse if you relate it to the explanation because something that looks forced to belong together can’t stand for authencity and unityFair point. From a technical perspective, I get how the juxtaposition of the head and the blob can be perceived as contrived since they are two clashing forms that do not meld together. On the other hand, however, this is a display of the rigidity of the statue holding back the outburst of color depicted by the blob (I will call it that). This blob represents a more organic and freer form of thinking that lets loose what the hard head has tried to hold back. Then we correlate this to the slogan of "Be Human." Being human is its own form of complexity, and the conceptual thought behind the logo stands for the intricacy of our inner humanity. In further analysis, the gradient bar covering the eyes may be a good demarcation between the two parts, but it also hides away the expression of said eyes, which challenges the idea of authenticity. 
I'm interested in the typographic choices behind the slogan. It can't just be for arbitrary reasons. Because it looks so dynamic, I'll be slightly disappointed if there's little typographic animation (I think of ESC 2016's animations of the country names). I'm pleased you've included a period/full stop at the end of it though. You know I love my full stops. 
The reveal of the design is honestly setting my expectations on a higher level than past editions. I'm really curious to see how you can pull this high-concept design off in motion. |

This is definitely a good logo. As someone who is a graphic designer, I find the colours and fonts complimentary, modern, and a good pop of fun. I feel like this 28th edition may be a good contest (in terms of songs and theme), especially with the world being so divisive nowadays.
