I hope Iceland will be banned from this edition. We don't need politics at Eurovision.

Like mentioned earlier in the thread, if Iceland got banned for showing the flag of Palestine when Armenia didn't get banned for showing the Artsakh flag I'll be pissed honestly. Unlike Artsakh Palestine actually has recognition and is a country.. while Artsakh is just a self-declared disputed region that has been at the center of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict for decades. I don't agree with what they did but to be banned for it when Iveta did something worse? Pathetic.

Predictions for next year: UK complains about the result and threatens to withdraw before staying and sending the exact same low quality songs as always This sounds so accurate.
I think it's safe to say that nobody will boycott Netherlands There's absolutely no reason for that (unlike 2019).

The EBU is full of empty threats, these days it's as if they're too scared to punish anybody. All Iceland will get is a slap on the wrist and by the time the next ESC season comes around it'll be ancient history. I really hope that the flagczech Czech Republic's success was not a one off last year inspires Slovakia to come back, I continue to remain unbothered about Turkey's non-participation in the contest and would not mind them never returning ever again, and I wonder how things are coming along for Kazakhstan and even Kosovo (though it'll be a few more years before there is any actual substance to these conversations that supposedly take place). I don't see why Ukraine won't be back and I don't even know why Bulgaria withdrew in the first place, but hopefully they'll both return. Remembering what I read during the confirmation period it seems Bosnia's got many other priorities before ESC, and it'll be interesting to see now that San Marino have qualified a second time if this starts a conversation in all the other microstates. Hopefully the quality of songs in 2020 is as good as they were this year after taking a tumble in 2017/18. Excited to see what this next ESC season has in store for us, even if it is several months away

I don't agree with what they did but to be banned for it when Iveta did something worse? Pathetic. I agree, but I think there is a difference between Iveta and Hataris incidents. Iveta waved her Artsakh flag in Stockholm which, while being offensive/rude towards Azerbaijan and the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, it has little to no meaning for Sweden. Hatari showing the Palestinian banner in Tel Aviv is a direct offense to the host country and very disrespectful to them and has direct impact on the host country. Hatari also got massive boos last night, while Ivetas incident went by almost unnoticed. I think had Iveta waved the flag in 2011 in Baku, Armenia would have got into heaps of trouble and would've probably faced much harsher consequences. Equally I would say, had Hatari waved the Palestinian flag at any OTHER contest not held in Israel, they would have gotten by just as Armenia has. I think this is just a matter of context and time and place why Iceland will probably face harsher repercussions than Armenia did.

You may not agree with what Hatari did, but actively wishing Iceland to be excluded I think is a wrong. Hopefully the EBU will find sense and if they do anything, it should punish Hatari not the broadcaster.

Where better to give a home truth than in the home of the host country? Fair play to for having the balls to do it.
