WWW Song Contest #74

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who helped Cyprus get a 9th place. It's nice to get a TOP 10 result again after 5 editions and even more because it was achieved by a singer such as Anna Vissi, who's proven everyone that despite being at her early 60's, she can still make great music! Just slightly disappointed I didn't get any sets of and therefore my song wasn't included in any of the 2 results videos but thanks to Armenia, Taiwan, Austria, Sweden and the Netherlands for their which really helped.

I am also happy to see my of this edition, Latvia, getting an amazing 2nd place! Wish it could have been their first victory in the contest but history repeated itself just like in #52 and Sweden stole the trophy at the end. Congratulations to Sweden for their victory and to the United Kingdom for their 3rd consecutive TOP 3 result, although I am not fond of neither of the 2 unfortunately. 

Canada, France and Germany are overrated in my opinion, whereas Croatia, Montenegro, Italy, Switzerland and  Belgium should have done better I guess.

Some other interesting facts about this edition for those who may be interested by the way...

The 2nd Chance Round Countries were proven to be decent picks, as Greece was the lowest placed among them, being 11th and missing out of the TOP 10 for just a point, whereas Austria and Taiwan achieved decent results in the final. The wildcard was also not too far from qualifying as Indonesia was 4th in the 2nd Chance Round and just points away from qualifying.

Talking about Taiwan, it did better than all other countries that directly qualified from the 3rd semi final. In general, interestingly enough, the 3rd semi final qualifiers were not very successful as right after Taiwan, the highest placed country from that semi is Vietnam that ended 17th and the other 6 qualifiers of that semi were basically the bottom 7 of the Grand Final (including Croatia). 

The above also show that sometimes going through the 2nd Chance Round is not as bad as it might sound and from my own personal experience, the only time I qualified from there (5 editions ago) I achieved a 5th place in the final, so it's better not to make early conclusions about one's result; things are usually very unpredictable and tables are definitely turning when it comes to the final voting.
