 KA'A AND KEHBÉ ARTIST REVELATION
Motomaji, Kehbé - 5th October 2019KKBC confirmed that Ka'a and Kehbé would be present at the 18th edition of the Fantasia Contest earlier this year. The national final Kiki with KK returned for a fourth edition and following an intense competition, we now have a winner.
Introducing...
FAUX
(featuring vocals from Sherry Davis) FAUX is the solo project of Josef Page, created as a way of expressing his love for 1980s pop music. The collective hails from Motomaji, Kehbé. Inspired by the likes of Prince and Tina Turner, Page plays a crucial role in the nostalgic, infectious appeal of his tracks. Having been in bands since he was 14, and working as a session musician, co-writer and producer for six years, Page eventually decided he wanted to "just do what I want, without having to worry what anyone thinks of it." And so he did!
"TAKE BACK TIME"Recap - 2:25+"Take Back Time" is a funkilicious pop track that feels like it was plucked straight out of the 80s, yet feels extremely current. The track's nostalgic feel is particularly joyous and uplifting. The track is inspired by music icon, Prince. The song is co-written by Page and Zylofonijan artist, Amber Simone. It blends elements of old school hip hop with an 80s pop-funk. "Take Back Time" features vocals from the very talented and soulful Sherry Davis, whom oozes charisma in her flawless, swooping vocals through the song. There is a careful balance between Page’s throwback production and Davis’ unabashedly upbeat mood as she sings about love and loss. The accompanying video, which is played in reverse, sees dancer Santeena Reid returning to her lover for one last dance, reminiscing of their past.

Following the the results of the 17th edition of the fantasia contest, FTStv decided that a 3rd edition of The Hwae Home should be held to find CIFIKA and OHHYUK's successor. Twelve acts entered the arena, but only one could emerge victorious. 31 juries from around Fantasia submitted 142 votes to the selection, and a winner has been found by an extremely narrow margin. However, FTStv elected not to host a super final of the selection, as the winner was the only song that managed to receive support throughout the duration of the selection instead of bursts of points.

SUNWOO JUNG-A
Sunwoo Jung-A is a Hwaesonnan Singer, Songwriter, and Producer who has been in the music industry for nearly 14 years. Beginning with her 2006 album Masstige, Sunwoo has since become a fixture in the Hwaesonnan music scene. Following Masstige, Sunwoo has released two further full-length albums and four additional EPs. Her most recent EP, Stunning, was released on August 25th, 2019 and includes "Classic," her entry to the contest. Stunning has been charting #1 on the Hwaesonnan album chart since it was released 5 weeks ago. Sunwoo has worked with many acts all around the world, acting as a songwriter, producer, and even collaborator. She has written songs for 2NE1, Lee Hi, G-Dragon, and multiple collaborations with Hwaesonnan superstar IU.
Born in Lephidross, Sunwoo has spent the past few years prioritizing philanthropy in her home city over music. However, with the release of her new EP, which is inspired by her philanthropic work, she wants to spread the message of what she has seen. Sunwoo hopes to make Hwaesonna proud in the contest, and follow in the footsteps of pasts artists such as ZAND, Canine, and Wednesday Campanella in showing off a new side of the Hwaesonnan music scene.

DÝRIAN ENTRY REVEALED!After a few weeks of intense voting in the national selection, Dýrska Söngkeppnin 5, DRTV has finally revealed who will represent Dýria in the 18th edition of Fantasia Contest, to be held in Niolskiaj. The winner was revealed in a Super Saturday show in which Dýria presented their entry alongside 6 other countries.
32 countries around Fantasia managed to vote in our selection, casting 156 votes in total.
The top 3 of the selection consisted of:
 Gwennyn - "An Hini a Garan" (15 votes - 9.62%)
 Mighty Bear - "Hvarf" (18 votes - 11.54%)
And the winner of the selection was...
GANGLY
GANGLY is a Dýrian band originating from Dyflinnjaborg. Founded in 2014, the group originally started off anonymously, with no one in the country knowing who were the 3 musicians behind the project, which is very similar to the previous Dýrian representative, HULDA's story. However in 2017, people figured out the 3 members of the project to be Úlfur Alexander Einarsson (a member of the band Oyama), Sindri Már Sigfússon (member of Sin Fang) and none other than Jófríður Ákadóttir, who is a member of Samaris, Pascal Pinon and also goes under JFDR as a solo act; she previously represented both Dýria and Maronesia respectively in #15 and #14. When asked why they kept this a secret, Sindri commented that:
We’re all known for our other projects, and people have these preconceived notions of what we do.. we wanted the music to speak for itself.
The group released their first song Fuck With Someone Else which was praised for it's dark aesthetic and melodic melodrama and the group were able to chart in Dýria, with the song peaking at #27 on the charts. After their first release, their style of music stuck, and the project began to grow. By 2017, the project only released 3 songs, but as Úlfur describes it:
It's kind of like slow beer.. the longer time you spend on something, the better it gets.
The group had their first international tour in 2017, taking them across the Northern Union, which turned out to be a success. Their music managed not only to chart in Dýria, but also in other NU countries as a result and even as far away as Hwaesonna.
The group managed to win Dýria's national selection with 16.03% or 25 votes in total, 7 votes ahead of 2nd placed Mighty Bear who got 11.54%. With JFDR having participated before for Dýria and Maronesia, this will be her 3rd attempt and the second ever returnee for Dýria.
After their win, the group appeared on Late Night with Nene Leakes and Jófríður stated:
We know that every artist says this but we genuinely are glad to be Dýria's representatives. We've been looking for this opportunity for a while now, and we decided to go for it. I've already represented my country before, so I am looking forward to another attempt. Let's see how far we can go!
They will represent Dýria with their song Drowning, which is the first Dýrian entry since #11 to be sung in Everish.
