Monagesque TV channel TMC confirmed today that after Najoua Belyzel's great result, Monaco will be in Sweden!

TURKEY CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION!

This morning the broadcaster Türkiye Radyo ve Televizyon Kurumu confirmed that the country will be present with much pleasure for the jubilee edition in

Sweden.
Since BÖ and NOES managed to bring the country to the Grand Final and to get a respectable place in the last edition, TRT decided to choose the entry through a national selection which is going to be once again, Turkish Popstar.

LATVIAN SELECTION IS LAUNCHED!

After an unsuccessful attempt to reach last edition through one of the toughest PQR ever seen (only 2 songs qualified out of 9 countries),

Latvia will be for sure part of the semi-finals for the jubilee edition!

The organisation of last edition was quite tough for LTV. Most of the traditional sponsors of Latvia for NVSC withdrew their support last edition when they saw how unlikely it would be to qualify to the semi-finals. Some first rank singers also chose to wait until this edition and didn't accept to participate in our selections. These limitations and also the very short deadline made us organise a small selection.

However we are quite pleased that our contestant Patrisha did pretty well in PQR. She finished 7th but when we look at the results, the margin between the 2nd and us was quite narrow. And we're sure that Patrisha will be able to do well in the future, she is only 18 and she was one of the youngest contestants last edition.

This time, Latvian expectations are a bit higher. We received a bigger financial support from our sponsors and many artists, famous or not, were ready to be part of our selection. We finally chose 7 entries for this edition - and some artists that weren't selected this time are already on our waiting list for next edition. We hope that this time, we will avoid the PQR for next edition and possibly reach the first final for Latvia in six editions.

Belarus Confirms National selection for upcoming edition

After confirming their participation the fans had no news about the method or the artist that would participate for Belarus in the 30th North vision song contest in

Sweden. Today the HOD confirmed that depite the posibility of being in PRQ round, Belarus will be using a small national selection to select our next act.

DENMARK CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION!

The Danish broadcaster has just confirmed that

Denmark will be making their apppearance in the jubilee edition of the contest. Despite the recent results of the country, the broadcaster is not ready to give up yet.

WILL DMGP BE USED FOR NVSC 30?

Dansk Melodi Grand Prix has not been yet confirmed to take place for the 30th edition, although it was previously said to keep the format used last edition, or have a special format for the jubilee edition. The broadcaster has said that it might be easier to opt for an internal selection this edition. The reason for the change of plans is most likely the country's failure to make it to the final the past two editions that DMGP was used. In addition, several singers have been approached in case an internal selection happens.

"It is not certain yet what method DR will opt for this edition. It was initially confirmed that for the jubilee edition, we'd have a new format for DMGP, similar to DMGP 10. But following our 3rd non-qualification, it is possible that the broadcaster had a change of mind."

Chisu to represent Finland!

Chisu has won Pohjoisviisut #30 with the song "Ikävä" (Yearning). She got an average rating of 7.71 out of 10. Second place went to Cyan Kicks with 7.17 out of 10 and Kuumaa got third place with 6.79. This is second consecutive 2nd place for Cyan Kicks as they also got second place in the previous edition.

This was Chisu's fourth attempt to represent Finland in the North Vision Song Contest: She has participated previously in SL #1 ("Sabotage", last place), SMK #22 ("Ihana", 9th place) and in SMK #26 ("Tähdet", 5th place).

Chisu (real name Christel Martina Sundberg) told in a press release that she took inspirations from artists like Leila K, Darude, Waldo's People, Rammstein and Bomfunk MC's while making "Ikävä". "I want to dedicate this song to those, who had to leave their homeland and their loved ones inevitably, for example due to war or other threat. Ikävä shall play as a dancing prayer to those who miss someone or something." Chisu said.

Czech Republic will continue to participate in the NorthVision Song Contest!

The country announced its plans regarding the next edition on a press conference held in

Prague this week, where the Czech team presented their ambitions for the upcoming competition.
Head of Delegation Julius Horváth expressed his disappointment about Oceán's result last edition, and spoke out about the fact that the country has to go through the Pre-Qualification Round in order to take part in the Semi-Finals. Here's an excerpt from his statement:

Obviously our result was not what we expected and hoped for, but that doesn't mean we'd stop just right there. The brand new team just started the work last edition, and I believe we are improving contest to contest. The delegation, including myself is really positive about our future participation and the mission of transmitting Czech music onto the world stage.

We are negotiating with various acts all around

Czech Republic, and a selected panel composed of music and media professionals will evaluate the entries, which means the country opts for an internal selection this time. More information on the matter can be expected in the following days.

Meanwhile, we'd like to wish all the PQR participants the absolute best of luck, and we hope we can qualify to the Semi-Finals and who knows, maybe to the Final too.

INTERNAL SELECTION CONFIRMED FOR DENMARK

It was confirmed earlier today that DR has decided to opt for an internal selection for the 30th edition of the contest, set to take place in

Sweden. The news broke today through the broadcaster's twitter account, where the internal selection was confirmed.

DR HINTS AT RETURNING ARTIST

Although not a lot has been revealed regarding their entry, DR has already given a "small" hint for the selected artist: it has been confirmed that the artist is "no stranger to NVSC fans". Could this mean that the artist is an artist who already represented Denmark in the contest? A lot of fans are already speculating below the tweet, with the majority wanting two-times winners Amaranthe (NVSC #4 and #11) to return, while a lot are also requesting the return of Aura Dione (NVSC #3, #7 and #20).

However, one artist has been heavily rumored recently: Aura Dione, who represented Denmark 3 times so far, more than any Danish artist, has been rumored to return to represent the country for the 4th time. The rumors sparked furthermore, following Aura's recent post on instagram which hinted at her return. She captioned the post with a lyric taken from her first NVSC entry, "Reconnect" (NVSC #3) while she also added "A little throwback... stay tuned!".

Aura Dione last took part exactly 10 editions ago with the song "Love Somebody", which is in fact Denmark's last top 10 placement in the final. Could Aura Dione be the next Danish entrant, and maybe the one who brings the country back to the finals?
