Since there are just 35 sovereign states on the American continent, what if territories were allowed to take part too in this hypothetical contest? 🤔 sovereign countries are priorities. but it doesn't mean territories can't participate. it depends on the organizer (in this case CBU, NABA, and OTI) whether they want or don't to invite them.

All I can say is I reckon the contest would be bloc voting among Latin countries to a complete new level I reckon they'd all at least attempt to participate but wouldn't be shocked if Haiti, Venezuela and possibly Nicaragua decided not to join for the time being As for territories: Greenland - Has a decent little music scene and would be a good entrant but I reckon they'd rather try find a way into Eurovision due to travelling commitments (Very hard to get from Greenland to say Brazil, requires going to Iceland or Denmark first anyway before crossing the Atlantic the other way again) Bermuda - Would be very cool to see partake, they'd be a good addition Saint Pierre & Miquelon, Montserrat, Anguilla, Turks & Caicos Islands, British Virgin Islands - All of these has some decent singers (most famous probably is Iyaz from BVI) but their low populations would limit their participation - all of these are less population than San Marino Aruba & Curacao - Yes, make it happen! An Aruban already won ESC and its time for them to make a mark on the America! US Virgin Islands - This would be a very interesting country and they can definitely pull it off! Guadeloupe & Martinique - Do this even count as territories considering they are literally just classed as parts of France? If they are then they are certainly big enough to join Puerto Rico - They. Must. Be. In. This. Contest. No excuses. When you have a huge industry with the most viewed song on YouTube of all time you HAVE to be participating lol

Nah, USA has way too many songs of their own anyway to be fighting between and Costa Rica is nothing to do with them
Its the one exception that 100% must be given its own right to participate, it has its own broadcaster anyway, plus the proposed Asian version lets in Hong Kong and Macau so why not Puerto Rico?
