^ Is Sydney hotter in general? I do think so, but I'm not sure Yes and no. By average Sydney would be slightly warmer, but Melbourne can get hotter than Sydney. Sydney's weather also seems a lot more consistent than Melbourne's weather. Say it was January, Sydney would usually be around 28 to 29 degrees with a couple of hot days around 37-40. On the other hand Melbourne could be 42 one day 27 the next then 36 then back to 23 degrees then to 32 then up to 42 again then back down to 25 Melbourne's weather does seem to drive a lot of Melbournian's insane so in summer I'd say Melbourne can get a lot hotter than Sydney, but in winter Melbourne get a lot colder than Sydney...

omg weather in Melbourne is insane! ahah! ;D I just can image people swimming in the afternoon..then after a while they wear long sleeves and jeans since the temperature drops so much. I'm guessing many people get colds and stuff cause the temperature changes a lot in a few hours. Then again, your body does get used to it

So say if its 28 degrees for the day and its about 1 in the afternoon, there will be a random 5 minute (rain) shower as well as the temperature cooling down by a couple of the degrees to say 22 degrees, then next minute it's back to 28 degrees and the sun is shining (This usually happens like 3 times a day )
