So I've tried today my very first cigarette. On my school everyone smokes and I felt like I had to prove I'm not that out-dated so I was just curious but it's so... awful. I can't stand the smell of a burning cigarette but smoking the cigarette is way worse. After 5 times inhale there went luckily something wrong and the cigarette stopped burning but now I've still this awful taste in my mouth after one hour. Even drinking a glass of apple juice didn't taste really well... And I've to cough the whole time. My mother told me always I can pay my own driver lessons if she will ever find out I smoke... well luckily she didn't see me smoking but she will never have the chance to find out again. So "everyone" in Netherlands do that?!? Kinda shocking how it can "trend" so much! There are many teenage-smokers in Norway as well, but luckily, I have a bunch of friends who don't smoke nor drink alcohol! I feel people here are more "free" if they don't smoke, but alcohol has more pressure. On my previous school, I felt kinda more pushed out than now, because I don't drink alcohol, but that didn't stop me to keep my promise to not drink alcohol before I turn 18. If I am not good enough for people because I don't drink alcohol, then why should I even bother to try so hard and feel "cool enough" for being a part of their "gang"? I have those friends I need, willing for more, and happy for those I have I respect that you were just curious Tom, and I understand. It's very good that you decided not to do this again. Horrible that there is such a pressure on your school, so it's very great that you are able to stay away from such

Mostly it's not weed, but cigarettes... yeah, lot of people smoke cigarettes here. I mostly don't even want to have something to do with my schoolmates. I often say here how much I hate them and this is one of the reasons as I feel now kind of guilty I've smoked this cigarette. I want so badly to have also friends I like on school... like on the forums there are enough people I like because I've just the same interests as them but on school they're all arrogant or really weird and they've stupid interests which I totally can't find myself in.

I understand you... I have been in your situation before, and it's not good at all to dislike EVERYONE at your school... My advice for you would be to try to identify your personality to others, you don't have to be 100% similar, have exactly the same opinion and view on different things, but if you have something in common, it would be great. For example if you both like music or some types of games, or just have similar personality. If you ever in a way meet someone at school or somewhere else who may be a bit shy and kind of different from the "others" (those you don't like.), you should talk to him/her, and who knows? Maybe you have things in common

Never tried it, and it looks nasty as fuck. I warn you, watch this picture on own risk, but yea, that's what's trending in Norway/Sweden

: I know the possible consequences and I take them in to consideration with the choices I make. It is a personal choice and I would like to enjoy life in the here and now, instead of constantly worrying about what could happen in the future. We don't have the guanatee of a new tomorrow anyways. And I know how weird this may sound, coming from me. Nou ja zo denken de meesten in dit land hierover. English transl.: oh well the most think about this in that way in this country. I probably sound like a typical Dutch person to you now. And I guess I am more of that than I realized myself. It's just that I think that everybody should be able to make their own choice. As long as no others get harmed by it, that is.

Yep, that's why I want to leave this country as soon as I can. I agree people should be free in making their choices but I think there exists something as limits. It would be great if a bunch of cigarettes would cost around €25,- or even more so people would feel required to stop smoking.

The weird thing is that people that are really addicted will still go on smoking, no matter how expensive it becomes. And I think it will only give the "black market" more power, because people will go there more and more, so they can still get cheaper cigarettes, which can be even more harmful to them.
