Lichtenstein Reveals Our Artist for the 29th Europa Festival
Vaduz, Liechtenstien • 19 June, 2020
 Born in  Abidjan in 1991 to an  Italian father and a Ivorian mother, our artist spent most of her childhood in Côte d’Ivoire. She began writing poems and songs at the age of 8. In 2002, when she was 11, her family moved to Switzerland. In Switzerland, she was introduced to hip hop culture by listening artists like   The Fugees, Notorious B.I.G., The Wu Tang Clan, and many more. Inspired by hip-hop rhythms, she first turned to dance. It’s only a few years later that she tried to express her writings on rap instrumentals. Fascinated, she started as a teenager a true musical and artistic epic which will later make her go all around the world. In 2012, she got to go on stage at an international improvisation Hip Hop competition called ‘End of the Weak’, where she will win the ‘Swiss Champion’ title as well as the ‘World Champion’ title in New York City later on that year on August 31st. She becomes, at the age of 21, the first and youngest woman to obtain such titles in EOW history. In the summer of 2013, she agreed to meet with director Pascal Tessaud for the adventure BROOKLYN, a movie about hip hop improvisation, shot in Seine Saint Denis. Like a fish in the water, she quickly gets into Coralie’s character like a second skin, a girl who leaves Switzerland to go to Paris to realize her dream. She played the lead role (Coralie aka Brooklyn), alongside rapper Rafal-Uchiwa and French actor Jalil Naciri (Taken). This film opened the doors of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2014 and was rated as a favorite by ACID (Association for the Distribution of Independent Cinema). Released in September 2015, the film was a huge success. After a long journey all around the world, BROOKLYN won the prize of the best foreign movie at the Hip Hop Film Festival (New-York-2017), and she won the prize of best interpretation the Milan Film Festi (2016) and the prize of best actress at the Hip Hop Film Festival (New-York-2017). On May 15th, 2020, she released her latest album, Akwaba, headlined by the prerelease music videos of the songs Airforce, her entry, and Kendrick. Three days ago, she released the music video for the fourth song on the 22-track album, Like a bird.

moldova confirms oh wait whitdraws confirms you can't take Switzerland for two reasons: 1. the country is banned of the edition 2. you already confirmed with Moldova therefore you have to stick with  Moldova |
