Hi . Im really interested in your new contest. I am also totally new in the forum so its the opportunity to join a first contest. You say ESC and JESC songs are not allowed. I have in mind a song who participated in a Junior NF for JESC but didnt participate to JESC. It can work ? If it's ok then i will share the city here, if it's not ok, then i will choose Berlin if possible please  yes, national selection songs are okay !! is berlin the city you are confirming with or are you picking a different one? |

A little information about the background of this song, because I find it really touching.
Zoe Wees didn't have an easy childhood. She had to deal with an illness called Rolando-Epilepsy. She tells
"Ich hatte früher in meiner Kindheit Rolando-Epilepsie. Ich konnte das nie so richtig verarbeiten und ich hatte halt 'ne wundervolle Lehrerin, die mich durch diese Zeit gebracht hat, in der Schule, auch außerhalb der Schule im Krankenhaus und ich wusste nicht, wie ich ihr sonst danke sagen kann, außer 'nen Song zu schreiben. Die Krankheit war stärker als ich und hat Narben hinterlassen, die ein Teil von mir geworden sind. Diese zu akzeptieren hat so viel Zeit gekostet - aber jetzt machen sie mich zu dem, was ich bin: Eine Kämpfernatur. "
In english:
"I had Roland-Epilepsy in my childhood. I could never really deal with it and I just had a wonderful teacher who got me through this time at school, even outside of school, in the hospital and I didn't know how to thank her otherwise, besides writing a song. The disease was worse than me and left scars that have become part of me. Accepting them took so much time - but now they make me that what I am: a fighter nature. "
"Control" is about Zoe's own experience, the fight against loss of control, hopelessness and seclusion.

About the artist
Jambinai is a Korean avant-folk-rock group formed in 2009 in Seoul, South Korea. The group is most known for their performance of their song "Time of Extinction" at the closing ceremonies of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. Jambinai are known for combining rock music instrumentation (drums, bass guitar, electric guitar) with the use of traditional Korean folk music instruments (haegeum, piri, geomungo). The group won the Best Crossover Album in 2013 with their debut album Différance, Best Rock Album in 2020 with their album Onda, and Best Rock Song in 2020 with their entry, "Onda", all of which were won at the Korean Music Awards. |
