CONFIRMATIONS CLOSED
the confirmations for this inaugural edition are officially closed !!! we officially have 26 participating cities !!! i wanted to thank you all so much for believing in this contest and making my life here on the forums that much more enjoyable. this summer has been quite obviously hard, but seeing the positive response to this has put a smile on my face, so thanks for that. now, onto business. there is one more week left to post your entries. i will be compiling the running order and recap as we go (as i already have quite a bit of entries), so that when the las city confirms its entry the recap can be up as soon as possible. the following users i've tagged below have yet to post an entry. some of you have pm'd me regarding your entries, but please remember that your entries are not official until you have posted them on a thread. please make sure to do that before time is up.

zagreb @antonija the next spoiler contains people that have sent me an entry with an audio youtube upload, and have not provided a replacement video alongside that. while it isn't required, it would help me a great amount if you were to provide a replacement video. even if you cannot upload a video alongside the audio on youtube or some other platform, providing a link to a video that you'd like me to use as a replacement also helps.
i also wanted to mention that i would love to work with some of you on this contest. if you're interested in joining the board of the "International Council of Cities and Music", then pm me (suyana ) and we can get started !!
ALLOCATION DRAW
along with the closing of confirmations, an allocation draw has been held to determine in which half of the final cities will compete. for this allocation draw 6 pots were made consisting of 4 or 5 culturally similar cities. this is done to prevent many songs that sound similar from participating close to each other, drowning each other out. a reminder of what the pots look like is below:

apologies for the abbreviated names for some of the cities, the full name wouldn't fit with the format i was using.
additionally, the number in the order in which the host,
new york, will perform, was drawn. this was to avoid bias on the host's part, as the host is responsible for creating the exact running order, alongside the board of the ICCM. this draw was done after that of the allocation draw, so that the order could be drawn from a pool of half of available spots in the final. the result of that draw is shown below:
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
as a way to shake up the contest, i've decided that the winner of each edition will help in the process for creating the following edition. a few days after the grand final results, i will pm the winner with some questions and instructions to better understand what they're capable of doing for the next edition. this could be creating the logo or slogan, submitting host venue bids, assisting in creating the running order, or simply giving ideas as to how the host city could best be represented, among other things. this will, of course, be at the winning HoD's comfort level, and i reserve the right to alter anything i don't think would be appropriate for the contest, to an extent. if you have any suggestions as to what this role could look like, i'd love to hear them !!!
