Submissions for EMA 2021 or for Ana Soklič were open from the 13th of July until the end of the 30th of September. Anyone could submit an original song sung by a demo singer.
191 songs were submitted which is a new record. There were 113 submitted songs in 2009, 145 in 2015, and 162 in 2008.
All timely and complete applications are being evaluated by at least a three-member expert commission. The list of songs will be published by the end of 2020.
The number of chosen songs and the song selection process will be published later along with the selection rules.

Tbh. I never quite understood the kind of hype about Ana that was going on in the Discord server recently. And if I may say this my personal expectations (that have never been high anyway) have been met lol. I mean Ana can definitely sing - which we already learned last year anyway. But although Amen is a better song than Voda I find it really boring as well (and too much Hallelujah for my likings). But the last minute of the song is impressive. All in all once the poll is added it's going to be a  from me.  Oh and btw. I'd have loved to hear it in Slovenian - and that's because of the lyrics and not the language itself. However props to her for going to Eurovision with a full-on religious song. |

 it’s solid, after last year I was so hyped for her. They really did her dirt by this song. She would’ve slayed with another Slovenian song. I am so disappointed 😭 |

 never did I think I'd end up saying "bring back Voda" but sweet jesus Slovenia have managed it this time |

 This is sad because Voda did grow on me and I do enjoy the chorus in this. However, she's supposed to be singing in English and I couldn't understand a word, I would much appreciate this if it was in Slovenian. If she can improve her diction then yeah I can see myself getting into this song |

  I expected smth like "Voda" or "Kruna" or idk but this is just mediocre and doesn't make a move at all. It will be a forgettable entry in May sadly because I think she is a lovely person and a great vocalist but oh well. She still looks great xx |
