REMINDER WELCOME TO THE SECOND EDITION OF THE CITIVISION SONG FESTIVAL LIVE FROM LONDON
now there are just 2 days left to confirm and 5 days left to confirm your entries! as a member of the ICCM board, i've been tasked with posting this reminder for anyone who hasn't confirmed/sent an entry or for anyone who is interested at all in participating.
if you have participated, here are the changes you must observe the closest:
the strike system has been amended to that three strikes warrants a one-contest ban, four strikes warrants a three-contest ban, and five strikes warrants a permanent ban. the automatic qualification system has also been changed. now, the best-performing six cities from two different groups will automatically qualify for the following edition with semi-finals. the first group is made up of the cities initially chosen to have AQ privileges. the second group is made up of the ten best cities overall, across all editions, that aren't a part of the first group. each edition, the three highest placing cities from the first group, and the three highest placing cities from the second group will be selected to AQ the next edition, alongside the host if it has not already been chosen. if we get enough participants this edition to break into semi-finals, the "big 6" will be london, miami, seoul, vancouver, valletta, and hamburg. i have also made the criteria for eligibility clearer. bands, groups, or collaborations will need more than 50% of its members to have close connections to the city they plan to represent. please know that you may need to provide evidence to back an artist's eligibility for a certain city. the last urgent thing that i amended is that you will only be able to switch cities twice every five editions. i don't want too much city-hopping, since the goal is for cities with music scenes that may be underappreciated to continue competing. if you are confirming for the first time, here is a basic outline of how this contest works:
in this contest, cities compete instead of countries !! cities eligible to compete must be a part of the international council of cities and music, our version of the ebu. these cities must either be in this list, or be the capital and/or largest city in their country, disputed region, or dependency. microstates (i.e. san marino) are ineligible, but city-states (i.e. singapore) are eligible. the competing artist must either be born in or have strong connections to your city, and the competing song can be no older than ten years prior to the entry reveal deadline. you will need to provide two sets of votes each show and semi-finals will be held depending on how many cities confirm. OFFICIAL RULEBOOK HERE
we are really hoping we are able to participate in semi-finals this edition, we'd love to make this event even more exciting. right now we're looking for someone to help us complete the grand final results video, so if that's something that interests you, pm marcos for more !!
if you are tagged below, it's either we're waiting for a confirmation and/or entry.
please check the first post in the thread for taken cities. CONFIRMATION DEADLINE: 11:59PM EST 24 AUG / 5:59AM CEST 25 AUG ENTRY DEADLINE: 11:59PM EST 27 AUG / 5:59AM CEST 28 AUG
