Oh it has opened already? That looks very exciting (and very Wwwsc). Some of the challenge look very hard to do however, but guess they're called "challenge" for a reason lol.

Germany
Jacques Offenbach • "Galop infernal"
0:37+
This completes the challenges a) released in the 1970s or earlier, c) not in English, d) not in any of Germany's native languages, f) at least 100 years old, g) not a pop song and h) part of a soundtrack (technically) as the opera, "Orphée aux enfers", in which this piece was included, was adapted as a film more than once.
On that note, I'd like to announce that for the next 10 editions (until #109), I will try to send classical music every edition, as there are so many amazing pieces that I'd like to send and that I considered for this edition

Francisco a. challenge calls for a song from the 1970s or before. That means that the earliest would be from 1980. 1980 isn't exactly 70's anymore It is and it isn't, depends on which decade you use 0-to-9 or 1-to-10. Editions use the ladder because it doesn't make sense to start from edition that doesn't exist. But when it comes to years, either works. It's just a matter of preference.

But when it comes to years, either works. It's just a matter of preference. For editions we maybe look at it differently, but for music (which we do in this case) (and other things, that get released at a certain year) I've always considered 70's to be 1970 - 1979. 1980 for me is already 80's... but if you want to count 1980 as well, I can't deny that to you, because you make the rules...

Chilean Entry
Violeta Parra - "Rin del Angelito" (ENG: Rin* of the Little Angel)
Timeslot: +2:16 Pic: Translation in this -> page (it is very accurate in my opinion)
*Rin is a Chilean traditional musical genre, from the Chiloé archipelago
a) Released in 1966 c) Spanish g) Chilean folklore Also potentially h). The song is about children who die at a very young age (some even being newborns, in the Latin American Christian community those children are known as Angelitos (little angels). In 1967, one year later the release (the same year when Violeta died), a Chilean movie called "Largo Viaje" (Long journey) was released, where a poor Chilean boy tries to find his dead newborn little brother (El Angelito), to give the wings that he lost during the funeral because without them his brother couldn't go to heaven (I don't know how known is this practice, but some years ago it was popular they would actually dress those passed children as angels), scenes from this movie are actually shown in the video I embedded. Although the song was never in the soundtrack of the movie, it has always been connected with this movie for obvious reasons. This is Violeta's 3rd appearance (last 2 times I think she was really robbed I must say), tbh I couldn't think of someone else more appropriate for this 100th edition, since Violeta is our most beloved treasure. Hope You Like It & finally give her the recognition she deserves (jk)

I was originally going for a Swiss German song from 2010, but then found out that I have quite the bunch of other songs available and decided to throw it away for this edition.
In other words please enjoy:
Paolo Meneguzzi - Aria Ariò
Timeslot: 1:54 - 2:19 PaoloTo my knowledge this is Paolo's debut single. And it's also the one song he managed to win the 1996 edition of the music festival in Viña del Mar representing Italy. I'm quite shocked to realize how few times I actually considered Paolo.
It completes quite a bunch of challenges: b) Paolo was born in December 1976 and making him 19 years old since the festival is held in February. c) and d) It's in Spanish. e) self-explanatory
