Why can't you hold me in the street? Why can't I kiss you on the dance floor?

^^I'm curious to know - doesn't Catalan count as a native language in Spain? I mean in some parts of Spain it even has an official status so surely it counts as a native language, doesn't it? (I might be wrong? The official language of Spain is the Spanish (Castilian) Although there are some "de facto I guess ?" dialects such as Catalan, Valencian, Balearic, Aragonés, Extremeñu, Asturianu, Basque & Galician. English translator: Only one country recognises Catalan as their official language, and that's Andorra

<|> ЧЕРВОНА РУТА <|> Vasily Zinkevich and Sofia Rotaru - Chervona Ruta (1971)
1.29 - 1.53
A song in which a guy confesses to a girl that she is the only one for him
and asks not to look for a magic flower to attract love charms!
Chervona Ruta is a mythical flower of Carpathian beliefs... According to the local legend, the ruta turns red on the Day of Ivana Kupala
for a few minutes. A girl that finds that flower will be happy in love.
The song and its melody was written by a 19-year-old student of the Chernivtsi Medical Institute, Volodymyr Ivasyuk.
Volodymyr found in his father's library a collection of "kolomyjkas" (author of the collection was Volodymyr Hnatyuk),
a traditional folk songs/dance of Prykarpattia. The first public performance of "Chervona Ruta" was on September 13, 1970.
On 18 May 1979 Ivasyuk was found hanged in a forest located on the outskirts of Lviv. His celebrity status -
in the Soviet Union and his cultural contributions to the Country in general, and Ukrainian in specific, drew the attention of authorities.
His songs, mostly about love of local geographical features and customs, could be perceived as rousing nationalist sentiments in listeners. Ivasyuk’s funeral was attended by over 10,000 people. After his death, his compositions were removed for a time from sale and radio play.
TV movie (Ukrainian version) with the same name.
Vasily Zinkevich sings "Chervona Ruta" on the Day of the city (Lutsk, 2020)

I'm interested - how many people must confirm their participation in order to host the semi-finals?

English translator: Only one country recognises Catalan as their official language, and that's Andorra The rule doesn't speak about official languages, but native languages. By the way some countries don't have any official language, like the United States (English is the official language only in some States but not at the federal level). If we used the notion of official language, we could also have a problem with Canada, because French is not an official language at the national level (it used to but not today), and claiming the rule for a song in French would be a bit awkward. From what I understood from the rule, a native language refers to: - An official language of the country, at least at a regional level.
- Or a language that is used as a mothertongue by the "founders" of the country.
- Or a language that is used as a mothertongue by local ethnicities that were present in the country before its creation.
- Or a dialect derived from the languages listed above.
And by the way, Catalan and Basque aren't dialects but languages: Catalan was created directly from Latin (like Sardinian for example) and Basque is not even an Indo European language.

English translator: Only one country recognises Catalan as their official language, and that's Andorra I'm not spanish myself (obvs), so I might be wrong, but I've always thought that Catalan was a native language in Spain. That's why I asked. For example, I found THIS and on the right hand side in that grey-ish window at the top it says: "Native to: Spain, Andorra, France, Italy". Obviously wikipedia might not be the most trustable source, but it makes you ask these kind of questions... Just as a comparison - latvian, latgalian and livonian count as native languages of Latvia despite 2 of them not being major languages (they are also the only 3 languages in Latvia not considered foreign)... so idk, maybe I've understood this rule wrong... if that's the case, then I'm sorry for bringing this all up...
