France 2021 • Barbara Pravi - "Voilà"

Well, well, well. France! You decided to make another national selection. What was wrong with Destination Eurovision? I will never know. But I'll admit that you have some quality content that may be promising 2021 entries. Here is my current top 12 (as of December 15th)

12. Casanova - Tutti - (2/10) - I honestly don't know what do you all see in this entry! This reminds me of 90's disco polo and I don't want to listen to it more... :/

11. Amui - Maeva - (4/10) - Well... there had to be an entry like this. The vast majority will take this as a joke entry (me included) and will not give any hope to this going through. Sorry :/

10. Terence James - Je t'emmenerai danser - (4/10) - How many times do you have to say it in the chorus?! Other than that it is quite listenable

9. LMK - Magique - (5/10) - I think it would be like Tracy De Sa in 2019. Nice rhythm but ultimately not a good performance. Also what kind of a chicken dance is she doing on a stage?!

8. Ali - Paris me dit - (5,5/10) - Anthemic... but too much. And again... those moves... oof.

7. Juliette Moraine - Pourvu qu'on m'aime - (6,5/10) - Really nice voice, great deal of emotions and I would've put it higher if that song had some kind of consistency. I keep getting lost in it and I'm confused.

6. 21 Juin Le Duo - Peux-tu me dire? - (7/10) - As with Casanova, but the opposite. What do you see in it that most of you place it last or 11th? It's nice, catchy and pleasant to the ear. The only complaint I have is that it may sound a bit like an JESC entry. That's all.

5. Poney X - Amour fou - (8/10) - Really catchy tune! I love this type of music but I'm afraid it would be like Poland 2018... just a straight-up flop. I hope I'm wrong.

4. Andriamad - Alleluia - (8/10) - Hmm... honestly I don't know what to think about this one. On one hand it is catchy, groovy and overall nice, but on the other hand it annoys me a little bit. Still I rank it 8/10.

3. Cephaz - On a mange de soleil - (9/10) - Another underdog! That tune is soooo pleasant, so cute! I really like this. Are those lyrics weird? Probably. But hadn't we had some other songs in ESC with questionable lyrics?

2. Philippine - Bah Non - (9,5/10) - Before I looked up the title, I thought she was singing about bananas That song is soooo great! I liked every second of it. The only issue I have (and not only with Philippine) is THOSE MOVES! Do all of them suffer from Uncontrolable Arm Movement or what?!

1. Barbara Pravi - Voila - (10/10) - She's beauty, she's grace and she's my winner of this year's French selection. She is a total package for the Eurovision stage. The song is just magnificent! I already added it to my playlist and played it on repeat for 3 hours!

France better don't fuck this up. They have the chance to become everyone's #1 after selecting their entry - which's become quite rare for the country lol.
