I had this song on my list for almost a year already and you could say that JESC gave me the motivation to use this song now. They took part in JESC in 2005 and in 2006 released their debut album. Sadly, that was their first and only album, because as it most of the time happens with kids bands, they split up as soon as their lives start taking turns. One of my favorite songs from theirs is the one I'm using this time. It's called "Eyes" and is quite a deep song for their age (you can read the lyrics in spoiler down below), considering the band members at the time of recording this song were 12, 12, 11 & 14 years old. I hope the fact that participants are kids won't scare away potential voters (I've had that experience in another contest already). Take a listen and I hope you will enjoy this song! It's time to move back in time once again. After 2 songs from the 90s here's a 1968 song for you. Les Sauterelles - Heavenly clubTimeslot: 1:14+
Les SauterellesThis is not only a fun entry, but there's also a serious point behind selecting this: Heavenly club has earned quite its spot in the history of Switzerland's music industry: Released in spring 1968 it's the very first song by a native artist (and 7th overall) that reached #1 in the Swiss charts (that were founded that year). It however remained the band'sonly placement in the charts making them technically a One-hit-wonder. However they disbanded and came together several times over the decades and are to my knowledge considered as known act (at least among older audiences).
Furthermore it's also the first Swiss song that has a music video. Fun fact: The village is called Maienfeld and actually world famous for being the place where the story of Heidi is located.
Guess all this would've been enough to make the song eligible for edition #80, but I wasn't aware of all these things back then. |

After 101st edition I decided to just select the songs which I like without any selections.
