All the sources that I’ve read mainly say she’s from Kurdistan and she’s Kurdish. However if I go to her Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/komsay/?hl=nl) and click on “About this account” it says she’s based in Iraq. In addition, most of her posts on Instagram and Facebook are in Erbil, the Kurdish capital in Iraq. Although I must add that she doesn’t state anywhere which kind of Kurdish she is, but this is the closest information I could find. I don’t think Kurdistan as itself is allowed to participate, so I think Iraq would be the best second option.  I completely get the idea and though her posts are from Iraq, it is still unclear as to her origin hence we did update our rules on clear evidence and social media posts aren’t recognised as clear heritage. Sadly singers like this do gal in the net of it all but hopefully if something comes up with something about her being born in Iraq and having parents from there then that would help the case. But we do need something more than just social media posts. I am sorry Letting her participate for Kurdistan isn’t an option, right?  |
