When the song was suggested to me, I admit I’ve had trouble looking for the identity of the Rakan featured in the song, because his Instagram bio didn’t tell his nationality, only that, apparently, he lived in Florida. Then I did some research and found this Rakan www.discogs.com/artist/5757008-راكان-خالد ; a Saudi-Bahraini singer, so I assumed he was the one who took part to the song. Since the featured Rakan is Jordanian-Palestinian, they must be two different singers with the same name. 🤯 I’m very sorry for having caused trouble , the entry will be withdrawn and changed immediately. Feel free to delete all the references to it from the wiki. A new entry will be presented in a few hours.

Taiwan reveals their host entryPosted on 12 February 2021 • Taipei, Taiwan Previously, it was announced that Taiwan will be selecting their host entry internally by launching a public call for song submissions in December. Following some delays, broadcaster TTV has finally unveiled their selected entry just now during the Chinese New Year's Day television special broadcast on the Main Channel. The Head of Delegation, who appeared as a special guest, revealed that both the artist and song were determined almost unanimously by the jury committee consisting of both local and international members from five songs that were shortlisted out of a record 593 submissions received. The entry was then performed live for the first time, revealing that the host representative for the twenty-fifth Own Asiavision Song Contest will be April Red!
Formed in 2011, April Red is a Taiwan-based electronic duo made up of DJ and producer Code Wu and vocalist Shao-Shih. Having already toured in more than ten countries as well as having been nominated for the 2013 Taiwanese GIMA Awards, the duo are best known for their psychedelic electronic sounds fused with traditional Chinese influences. On home soil, they will be performing the song “Nude Model”, composed by the artists themselves and written by contest alumnus Chiu Pi who represented the East Asian country back in the twenty-second edition in Incheon. We wish the best of luck to both of them and we hope every participating nation will enjoy the best of their time here in our little “treasure island”!

New Bahraini entry revealed!!الكشف عن قانون بحريني جديد On 5 January 2021, BRTC announced the country's obvious intention to participate in the semifinals of Own Asiavision Song Contest #25, to be held in Taiwan. An internal selection was the chosen method the delegation announced that day. A month later, on 12 February, the delegation presented their proposed entry. Richie Krisak, featuring Rakan would have represented the country with their song Change, thus becoming the first collaboration to have ever represented the kingdom. An hour after the announcement was made, it was revealed that the entry had been rejected because of a lack of connection to the country. BRTC later apologized, stating that they had assumed the featured singer Rakan was a popular Saudi-Bahraini singer, Rakan Khaled. The broadcaster also promised a new entry within a few hours from the announcement and apologized for the incident, which happens to be the second consecutive one after last edition's proposed entry was also rejected! Without further ado, let's introduce our next representative... Hanan Redha will perform Shafti Ana Hanan Redha (حنان رضا) is a singer-songwriter from Bahrain. She is very popular through the country and very famous in the Arabic-speaking Middle East: a true icon for the male-dominated Arab music scene. We are very honored to have her representing Bahrain and we can't wait for her to return soon in the future. She will sing Shafti Ana (شفتي انا; My Lips), a banger she released in 2017, hoping to bring the country its third Grand Final after an absence of four editions.
Timeslot: 1:40-2:05 History of Bahrain in Own Asiavision Song Contest
The small Gulf country debuted in the fourteenth edition, hosted in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, and was welcomed with a dead last placement in its semifinal, brought by Ala Ghawas and his Veteran, followed by another non-qualification in Palestine. The country then returned in #17 and achieved its first qualification, thanks to Ahllam and her bop Nafas. Ahllam would later return under Bahrain's current, at the time new, delegation, in Laos, and achieve the country's second and last qualification to date, with her Persian banger Sheytoon. Unfortunately the country hasn't been able to qualify since then, with the most successful result being a 13th place in its semifinal in #21. Last edition, Assala managed to qualify from the Quarter Final, but scored a 14th place in her semi, luckily escaping this edition's QF. Hanan Redha will sing Shafti Ana in Taiwan, trying to give Bahrain a spot in this edition's Grand Final after four editions.
