4th with 91 points! And I'm literally screaming right now. I knew already (somewhere deep down lol) that In the middle of the night would have some potential. However every edition I'm writing something like top 10 or top 15, but then I hardly ever get there (look at my wiki for the last 40 editions lol) so that wouldn't have surprised me this time either. I love to have not done that at least once (let's do that again in #108 ). Anyway thanks for the 91 points everybody that btw. also happened to get me the second last rank within the top 30 I've never had (now bring on that 7th place!). And yay the trend of me coming top 10 once or twice a decade keeps going on lol. Good winner and and good (and somewhat expected) top 3. I'm particularly happy about France winning because Avant toi (as we all know) is very overused. I mean I'm not complaining about its outcome, but I could've already imagined some "certain" comments these winners often get incoming. And I'm really happy with the results in general and particularly the top 11, that I mostly voted for. I just don't quite get the result of Turkey ... And I wouldn't have expected Greece to not get there.

Thank you very much for that win! Fighting against Marie-Mai and The Corrs for the win was already quite an accomplishment so I'm very glad that Mylène managed to get to the top. As I explained earlier, I had been thinking a lot about calling her back in the contest but I was wondering with which song. By the way, she was on my list of potential singers for... the pre-2000s edition. A recent event made me change my plans for that edition so I finally decided to send Mylène this edition with a more recent song. Of course with that victory my plans changed again since I want to send something a bit special for hosting. I didn't reallly know what to expect for this edition since she got "only" the second place with Désenchantée for Canada (behind... Alizée...), which is probably her most known song, and 13th with Innomoramento for France. I was far to imagine how historical that result would be: - Thanks to that victory, the French record of points earned in a decade for the Nations Score is already broken in 7 editions... - During that decade, France obtained one victory and one runner-up place, against two victories and one runner-up place during the entire first century... - The historical record of Julie Zenatti (137 points with Je voudrais que tu me consoles) is broken (probably the biggest surprise). By the way, in a sense I will explain later, the French entry for next edition will be a tribute to that song. - With Marie-Mai, this is a historical top 2 for singers born in Quebec. I don't think we're going to see that again soon...
