Venezuela confirms and reveals our representative! ¡Venezuela participará en el Festival de la Canción Own Americavision y revela a nuestra representante! Il Venezuela parteciperà all'Own Americavision Song Contest e annuncia la nostra rappresentante! The Venezuelan delegation is delighted to announce today, Sunday 11 April 2021, the predictable presence of the south american nation in the 11th edition of the Own Americavision Song Contest, which will take place in Canada. The statement was expected to come out during these days as the entire OAmSC fanbase was extremely sure of the country's presence, giving not only its active fanbase, which made last edition's grand final and second semifinal the most watched programs on Venezuelan TV on 14 and 21 November respectively, but also the astonishing result our Venezuelan queens Isasi B and Mabel Yeah achieved in Puerto Rico. With their song "Reinas" finishing on fifth place, they renewed the country's best result (surpassing Venezuelan goddess Romina Palmisano and her eleventh place in edition 4) and achieved the country's first automatic qualification, meaning Venezuela won't need to compete in the semifinals in Canada. Venezuelan representative has been already selected: meet Yesy Milano
Last edition the Venezuelan broadcaster had already announced that it was extremely certain that famous Venezuelan singer-songwriter Yesy Milano, born and raised in Barquisimeto, in the north-western part of the country, would have represented Venezuela in the eleventh edition. Originally from Barquisimeto, Yesy Milano had already started her career in the late 2000s ( 2008) before appearing in Perdoname, a collaboration between her and Roming which is one of her most famous songs. She will fly our beautiful flag in Canada and will represent Venezuela with a song that will be revealed towards the end of the confirmation period. Stay tuned for more news to come!
History of Venezuela in the Own Americavision Song Contest Venezuela was one of the original 37 members of the OABA when it first took part to Own Americavision, more precisely to the first ever edition in Peru, where Aneeka represented the country with her song "Ojo por Ojo". The following edition, the country was represented by no other than Gaby Noya, Corina Smith and Vanessa Suárez. The trio managed to achieve a new best result for the country: a 12th place. Following a one-edition break, Venezuelan goddess Romi Palmisano represented the country with her banger "Complice", again achieving a new best result by climbing the top 12 and placing 11th. In edition #5 the country also achieved its first non-qualification, followed by another one-edition absence, after which the country returned in #7 under a new management, which also didn't last long as Venezuela withdrew (again!) in edition #8. The country finally returned in edition #9, hosted in Los Angeles, where Alaya placed 23rd. The following edition Venezuela upgraded once again their best result, when Isasi B and Mabel Yeah took the country in the top 6 for the first time ever, also achieving the country's first automatic qualification up to date. On 11 April 2021, it was announced that Yesy Milano had already been selected to represent the Bolivarian Republic with a song to be revealed at the end of the month.
The Head of Delegation would also like to take one more minute to thank every single coucil member and the OESC (+ subcontests) family as a whole for having chosen us as new council members along with Saint Pierre and Miquelon, to which we send our greatest congratulations and with which we can't wait to work on the contest. This was easily one of the best things that happened to me ever since I joined the forums 2 years ago, and I still can't believe I have the honor to take care of such a unique and special contest. We hope that all the players will enjoy this edition as much as we'll do.

Statement from Honduras 11.04.2021 • Tegucigalpa, Honduras
It is with regret that we have to announce the Withdrawal of Honduras from the 11th Own Americavision Song Contest. Our broadcaster does not have enough support from the government officials and currently lacks enough public funding for our participation to commence. We aim to return in the 12th Edition.
Real Reason: I have alot of work at College when I go back so I'm not too certain if I would have enough time to submit an entry and vote here. It wouldn't be fair on the new hosts if I was to delay them and so I think it's for the best I sit out this edition!

BARBADOS ENTRY REVEAL
"Slow Burn (Sugar Jesus Remix)" - Jenny Mayhem 0:44+
After bringing Barbados a disappointing non-qualification (and the only one to date for the country) in the 4th edition, Barbados-born Canadian Jenny Mayhem is back to redeem herself with an electronic remix of her new track "Slow Burn" remixed by Sugar Jesus. And lucky for her, she doesn't have to go far, as the edition will be held in Canada, the country she currently lives in.
The delegation is hopeful that Jenny will get a much better result this time.
