THOUGHTS:
Production quality was superb compared to last year's mess. I think the organization has finally figured out how to balance bringing that showstopper quality the pageant is known for while still keeping itself socially aware and responsible. As for the results? Peru was robbed. I would've also gladly accepted Brazil as the winner. Mexico was alright; her final statement was substantial, but she was a little stiff. Peru and Brazil were both much more engaging to listen to, and no, it's not because they both spoke English. You can speak another language but still be engaging and sincere.
I know how overdue the pageant has been for a Latina winner (it's been 7 years), but the judges crowned the wrong Latina. Nevertheless, I want to congratulate Miss Mexico, our Mexican users, and even more the Latin American users! Felicidades!

I personally loved this edition because this reminded of early 10's editions but they still had their concept of being less superficial I am extremely happy with pur representative Ivonne Cerdas to bring us an amazing top 10 and all Costa Rica is so proud if her  Myanmar she deserved more Peru conquered me with that evening gown and i really wanted her to win and when i saw her getting 3rd broke my heart. In general i wanted a latina to take the crown again but i had my preferences and Mexico wasn't one of them, but I'm still pleased, so congrats sjshsihs It's kinda sad it's the first year since 2014 that we don't have any African country being a semifinalist, but in general Africa was kinda weak this edition, in my opinion only  South Africa and  Cameroon stood a chance and well they failed. Not  Chile failing but Arg*ntina qualifying, this is illegal, from all latinas, she? DEFINITELY    Nova Stevens was the biggest robbery wtf, this girl was amazing i saw her preliminar and she slayed, also it would've been cute to have her with the other 2 ethnical africans (  Asya Branch and Jeanette Akua) In general this was a pretty good edition, ignoring ads every 3 minutes, and i hope to see you all in Costa Rica next year as we're probably the 2021 hosts  |

Well another year with both happiness and sadness. I’m sad that she wasn’t able to show her speech ability but again, this year’s competition is quite strong so better luck next time for us I guess. Now, I’m praying that the pro-dictatorship and pro-loyalists “fans” will not throw a rock to her. National Costume: YES SO DESERVED  I’m expected us,  Malaysia or  Ukraine to win (also  Finland as first, but it was poorly executed in the reality so) but yasss we love that the committee appreciate Miss Myanmar’s message. Impact Award:  Her Impact Award is well-deserved. We stan a passionate queen with the love for organic planting. Special mentions I’m really sorry for her. First, she was targeted by the Myanmar dictatorship junta for her democracy movement and then, her luggage with costumes (including the original national costume and the prelim one) was lost during her travel. And now that she won the national costume award, she might face a lot of actions from the military and maybe not even be able to return to her homeland safely. (like Miss International Myanmar’s case) I salute her bravery for using the competition as a platform to express the message about what her country are facing now.   These two ladies also deserved to be mentioned as well: for the #StopAsianHate message and for the statement about the discrimination of LGBTQ+. Now, onto the competition’s results. ROBBED. I don’t understand why both of them were eliminated from the top 10. well possibly the less “competitive” contestant for these years from PH. But SHE DIDN’T DESERVE THE HATES BY THE “SO-CALLED FANS” these 3 countries being eliminated from the top 5 round is a truly shock for me. Especially, Thailand (obv bruh) and Costa Rica who is definitely the better Latina in this round along with miss Peru. Top 5 (dominated by Latinas uwu) Expected as she was absolutely sabotaged by that bad translator. I feel bad for her as her speech seemed to lost the impact due to the poor translation. We were rooting for her but well, her statement is not good enough (even though she rocked the COVID question) so that’s also expected.  And now, we reach the biggest robbery of the night. Looks, passions, personality, her speechs, her answers etc. Everything about her really screams the “absolute winner”. She is the best lady during the questions round and undoubtedly, the most outstanding one. And guess what? She was completely robbed.  Deserved. Even though after miss Peru was out, I would love to see her crowned more.  She is great and beautiful and her final statement is also really amazing. But her answer for the first question is not good, if you ask me. (Compared to miss India, who also got the COVID question) I’m sorry but I’m afraid that she is gonna be probably my least favorite winner since like a long time.  Nevertheless, I still would like to congratulate Latin American users, Mexican users and Miss Mexico for the victory! Now I’m praying for the competition to be outside the US next year oops Also thank you #asian-ocenian squads (even tho there were more Latinos watching) for enjoying this year’s competition together. It was real fun to do it with you all! Even though we were all sad about Peruvian robbery I’m looking forward to enjoy these moments again with you guys in the next year! mwah And before I will finish my long ass reaction, let me say this too.

um anyways so here are my thoughts was absolutely ROBBED of a placement, i loved the fact she was still able to share her story  was my fave out of the top 10, robbed as well the top 5 was kinda disappointing and lacked some diversity, i think the finalists looked very similar the winner is nothing special to me and wasnt the most convincing..at this point and truly deserved the title as for my own country im shocked we made it into top 21, i disliked our candidate during the miss france competition and she wasnt so much better yesterday..i hope we wont be overrated like that in eurovision next saturday  anyways stan miss fantasia coming over this summer, yall can still sign up if you want to x |

Well, today Olivia Culpo became the biggest meme in here. But I wished Rabiya would at least made it to Top 10 cause I know she is capable of doing so well in Q&A, I just felt that the nerves got the best of her and she wasn't able to enjoy the swimsuit competition. Quite disappointed with the format, it felt less capable of showing the wits of the other participants, especially with the Top 21. With the winner, I think I'm one of the Filipinos who would say that it is quite random, idk why. I just felt like Peru or India would've made a great winner as they stood out for me so much, especially Peru. Fun fact: I have the same origin province as Rabiya's. Both my mom and dad were born and lived there. |

THOUGHTS:
Before you start, there was already controversy about Israel being the host country (among other things). That's a topic for another thread.
What a show. I love the stage! I love that they got Noa Kirel to perform. JoJo also performed. We also saw a performance by Harel Skaat (ESC 2010), Valerie Hamati, and Narkis! 
Really interesting that  Morocco returned for the first time in decades in Israel of all places.  Also really excited that  Bahrain debuted, too.
The swimsuit and gown segments were definitely rushed, but it's live TV, so there... The Q&A was pretty competitive. I couldn't tell who was gonna make it to the top, but I was overall satisfied with the results.
I was surprised Puerto Rico didn't reach the Top 5. USA, after all the hype, had a disappointing gown presentation. And I'm SO gutted for France and Vietnam. I wish they both made it further than they did. Also really devastated that  Spain, Chile, and  Belgium didn't even make the Top 16, especially after hearing about Belgium's story of being adopted from  Ethiopia. And poor Thailand, they had a good streak of placements going, but it wasn't meant to be tonight.
So pleased to see India claim their third Miss Universe crown (after 1994 and 2000). I'm also really happy for Paraguay, Aruba, Bahamas, Japan, Panama, and Singapore for making it so far to be at least in the Top 16. They're countries you don't often see do well in this competition, so huge respect to them.
I'm so happy my country Philippines delivered this year after so much skepticism from the Filipino fans. Top 5 is an amazing finish.
May the new Miss Universe have a beautiful and fruitful reign. |

LIVE FROM EILAT, ISRAEL
I wanted to share my thoughts on this year's pageant before I head to school, so
here are the opinions of another Filipino user on the forums, lmfao.
OVERALL SHOW:
Honestly, from the moment the stage was revealed, I already knew we were gonna be in for a show, and they really delivered it. I loved Noa there, Jojo, and surprisingly Harel too. Every element of the show really made it a very memorable and amazing one, so congrats to the organization for producing such an amazing edition, especially for a 70th anniversary show.
Oh, and to add, it was amazing to stream the pageant for the second year in a row, and thanks to those who joined in at some point in the livestream!
TOP 3 Honestly, such an amazing winner. Ever since the early days of the pageant season, she was already a force to be reckoned with. On the evening itself, she gave an amazing performance (AND) such an amazing answer. From there on, I already knew that she was gonna win. Congrats on winning Miss Universe! (Just a little trivia, lmao: The last time India won Miss Universe was the year our new Miss Universe was born. (2000) I know, I feel old.) She was honestly one of the best performers tonight too, ngl. She gave an answer that was as strong as the eventual winner's, so a runner-up position is definitely something to be proud of. Plus, it's their highest placement yet. I think this was a deserved spot for her. Her answer in the final Q&A was strong, but it was the weakest if you compare it to the other two countries in the top 3. However, I must say, she did amazing in both the swimsuit and evening gown portion. A great way to redeem her country's performance from last year (which was soooooooo undeserved  )TOP 5 I feel like this was a deserved spot as well. Her answer in the Q&A portion wasn't as strong as to those in the top 3, so I kinda saw this coming. OK. I HAVE A LOT TO SAY ABOUT HA. Honestly, if anything, I only expected her to reach top 16. But when I saw her swimsuit and evening gown performances, she really proved me wrong. And now, we finally placed in the top 5 after Catriona's win in 2018! Although I won't lie, I saw our journey end in the top 5 during the Q&A portion. She gave a great answer, but didn't really execute it in the most impressive way. Regardless, a top 5 is a top 5 and it's nice to see my country back on its feet after two consecutive years of a top 20/21 result. Congrats, Bea!TOP 10 I think it's safe to say that on behalf of those who were in the #asian-oceanian chat that I was very surprised for them to even make top 10. Their swimsuit performances weren't necessarily the best out of the 16, but in terms of their countries, they represented them very well. Ok, is 2021 France's year of roberries? (No shade to Måneskin, but Barbara was my personal winner.  ) I honestly thought she was gonna make it top 5, heck, even win the whole thing. She still did so amazing in the whole competition, so she should still be proud of what she did. I think this is a deserved spot for her, tbh. Congrats, Puerto Rico! Her evening gown performance was kinda nice, but I think that others were just better.TOP 16 How- She serveddddd. I'm happy that she was able to get through to the top 16, so congrats! The Latinas were really serving this edition, and she was no exception. It's kinda sad that she didn't get through to the top 10, but it's nice that she at least got a placement. A literal icon. I was really shook when they were called into a top 16 because they barely do well in pageants. She was such an amazing candidate and I'm really happy she got through. The fact that she didn't get through to the top 10 is shocking. I thought she was gonna advance, but oh well. The fact that they won the fan vote for the second consecutive year in a row. (:giggles:) But I must admit, their candidate was amazing too but I think her performance was good enough for the top 16 only.
UNPLACED COUNTRIES:
They shouldn't even be in this part, but sadly they are.
I won't lie, I saw her going through to the top 16 before the prelims. After though, she kinda fell borderline for me because of a not-so-impressive performance in the prelims. But, she had such an amazing platform (#RealSizeBeauty) and a beautiful representation of it. Sad to see Thailand miss out on the top 16 this time.
She honestly did quite good in the prelims and for her to even stand there is already an achievement. For a debut performance, they didn't do too bad at all.
Her costume was great, but I thought of other countries winning it, like  El Salvador, Japan, Peru, or maybe even our own Miss Philippines. However, I think it was still a deserved award, so congrats!

Well, Philippines not advancing for the first time in 12 years is a shock, but I wasn't livid about it. It was bound to happen eventually. I legitimately believe Philippines got too complacent. In my opinion, after Catriona won in 2018, the rest of world started to catch on with figuring out the formula to start doing well in Miss Universe. I honestly didn't expect Thailand to have a non-placement streak. Slightly surprised about that. Laos advancing this far in the competition for the first time was the most pleasant surprise. Thank goodness we still have someone holding it down for ASEAN. Thanks, Laos!
Even before the pageant had even started, I began following Miss USA on Instagram because I got amazing vibes from her attitude and presence. She was my #1 favorite from the very start. Her being half-Filipina helped, too.  She was on fire from start to finish. She was the one to beat. I was SO excited that she got the Miss Universe crown. She never let me down at any point.
Congratulations to Miss USA!
I'm so excited for Miss Universe to go to El Salvador for the next edition. Sel , pressure's on you.
