OHIO ANNOUNCES ENTRY
After a first time qualification thanks to WALK THE MOON, Ohio's state broadcaster WOSU Public Media is more than ready to take on the challenge to strive for more in the Own USAvision Song Contest. As a result, a selection process was held for all local singers with a total of 68 songs being submitted following the deadline on Monday. After an internal procedure, a decision on both the artist and song was finally reached and is ready to be unveiled to the public for the first time. JETTY BONES will represent Ohio! Jetty Bones is the stage name of Kelc Galluzzo, a vibrant alternative pop singer-songwriter who started to release music in the late 2010s. Based in the small town of Urbana, Ohio, Galluzzo is the mastermind of Jetty Bones, writing the hooky pop tunes on her own and employing a variety of backing musicians to encourage people to rise above everyday situations and push for a life with better meaning. A rising talent in the alternative underground for the past several years, Kelc has somewhat become more than an anthem for every underdog: from the soft spoken to the hurt, she has become an extra voice to make them feel accepted and whole through headphones or at a concert. Her poetic lyrics hit a core that will find you dancing in your room, forgetting the pain you feel. She also focuses on the importance of recovering from any traumatic experience one has lived with; mental health or a toxic relationship, recovery is the most important thing – something that Kelc reminds audience members every show. In Massachusetts, she will be singing the song "Nothing", an energetic, synth-heavy 80s banger that is impossible not to groove along to. In regards to the song, the singer stated: "This song is about questioning whether you should keep fighting for something you love or let it fade away, all while contemplating the repercussions of either decision. There’s a harsh dichotomy between those two lives, but a connection in the pain. [...] The team we had on set felt like an instant family. Bringing Kimmy Shields into the mix was a perfect addition – the positive energy and comic relief she brought to the shoot made the whole experience one I’ll always cherish." NOTHING by Jetty Bones
