It annoys me at how dumb and fickle some people in society are, I know that it's nothing compared to cancer or things like my sister has such as cardiomyopathy, but what people don't seem to understand is that being epileptic puts a massive push down on your life and puts a lot of things in the way that you just can't physically do by law.

1. I can't drive a car so I get given the same bus pass as a 60 year old UK pensioner does. When I board the bus during the day, i'm sick to death of old people staring at me and nudging their friend because I have the pass they have, what does it hinge upon their lives? Nothing, apart from them being nosy, uncaring, unwilling and disrespectful people.

2. People are sometimes uncaring to remember that having seizures frequently can make you feel crap or more so to the point, closer to depression, I feel really down sometimes that i'm tempted to start self-harming again - like I have the past - because you feel like you physically can't cope with how pathetic you feel and that for some reason you feel like you've been judged.

3. On a personal note of being judged again, WHY?! WHY ME?! I've done nothing but be a caring, loyal and well-educated young member of society, yet it seems that despite me being all of these factors, i've been judged by the man upstairs and now I have a mental disorder.

4. That's another thing - epilepsy (not like ADHD etc I know) but still is a mental health disorder - you have a seizure and after you feel so drained of energy, you feel sick, you feel confused, you feel lonely, you feel scared, you feel like you want to cry - like I do now, I had a seizure about 45 minutes ago and right now i'm on rant mode because I feel like i'm going insane and I just need to get everything off my chest because we can't say these things to people in our families because they just laugh at us and say we're being pathetic when really, we're telling the truth, it's how we feel ...
