Summer homework? lol omg now i don't want to go to school in the united kingdom if I ever did get it I'd ''forget'' to do it.. no care in the world  even the GOOD students wouldn't do it  I think it might be only my school, at least I've never heard of any other schools in the uk starting the new school year early or setting summer homework... Also I have to do it otherwise I won't be allowed into sixth form as I mentioned earlier so yeah... woe is me~ |

Never got summer homework or started the school pre-summer holidays. It seems like the education system has changed ... As for students here in Taiwan where I teach... Some High School students get about 1 week / 2 weeks summer holiday. Some of them have been going to classes since July when others stopped and now all Taiwanese students start the new academic year next week. On a Monday students start school at about 8:00 and finish at 12:00 then the vast majority will come to a school like mine (a buxiban) where they study English and do all their homework and their parents come for them at 8:30, we feed them, give the younger ones nap time, teach them etc. Other days they will study 8:00 - 4:00 Basically this is how advanced students are here in comparison to the UK. I thought as a joke I would start class with maths sums, I got one of my students to correctly work (in her head) 75,225 x 31,574 = 2,375,154,150 ... |
